Watch List star Alessandra de Rossi reveals why she does not miss doing a teleserye and portraying a kontrabida role.

Alessandra de Rossi was handpicked to play a mother-turned-vigilante in the international film Watch List.

She was picked by Indian-American filmmaker Ben Rekhi to top-bill this drama-action about the drug war waged by President Rodrigo Duterte.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph held yesterday, February 12, Alessandra narrated:

Alessandra then revealed that her character is named Maria and Maria was actually supposed to be the title of the movie.

Then nag-travel abroad ang film."

Is this movie inspired by true events?

"Isang litrato ang nakita ni Ben. Sumikat iyon sa news all over the world, yung parang Pieta na nakayakap siya.

This photo was taken by Raffy Lerma, and was published on the front page of the Philippine Daily Inquirer on July 24, 2016. It evokes images of Michelangelo's sculpture Pieta, which depicts the Virgin Mary holding the dead body of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion, death, and removal from the cross,

ALESSANDRA ON KONTRABIDA ROLES

During this interview, Alessandra admits that she does not miss doing a TV show.

Since 2018, Alessandra has been only active in doing movies, although she has made several guest appearances.

Her last regular teleserye was the ABS-CBN prime-time series Since I Found You, which aired from April to August 2018.

During her PEPLive session yesterday, February 12, Alessandra revealed the reason why she does not miss doing a teleserye.

"Pero yun nga, most of the time kasi, yung role ko, iisa lang."

She was referring to the kontrabida roles she played in most of her teleseryes in the past.

Alessandra recalled how she remained calm while waiting for a technical difficulty to be fixed before her PEP Live episode.

She said, "I'm sure, nakita niyo naman ako kanina, naghintay ako ng mga one hour, yun na ako for the rest of the day.

So talagang born bad siya ano?

"So, hanggang ngayon, yun pa rin yung offer. So, hindi ko talaga namimiss."

Alessandra then recalled doing a kontrabida scene in one of her past shows.

According to the 35-year-old actress, doing the scene became a wake-up call for her.

"Alam mo kung saan ako gumive up, di ko na sasabihin anong show, naka-wheelchair yung nanay ng bida for the rest of her pagtanda.

Alessandra said that she is thankful to VIVA Films and her hit 2017 blockbuster movie, Kita Kita, for allowing her to get out of that "kontrabida" box.

Alessandra is currently busy promoting her movie, Watch List, which starts showing on February 19 in cinemas.
