Marcelito Pomoy revealed that it was Simon Cowell and his team who chose his finale song for the grand finals of America's Got Talent: The Champions.

This is according to Marcelito's vlog post prior to his grand finals performance on February 9.

Marcelito said in the video, "Meron nang napiling kanta guys, pero sila ang pumili talaga.

So gusto naman niya kakaiba.

Before revealing the process of choosing his grand finals song, Marcelito thanked his followers who supported him throughout his America's Got Talent journey.

This is the grand finals na kasi, guys.

At this point, Marcelito revealed that it was the music team of Simon that chose the song that he will perform for the grand finals.

Marcelito also admitted that he was a bit apprehensive regarding the song choice.

In his vlog post, Marcelito said that he was just hoping that he would be able to perform the song well.

Sana...sana magustuhan nila at magustuhan ninyo.

Towards the end, Marcelito described that the moment could be the "pinaka-worst" that will happen to him because he believes that the song is not usually performed in singing contests.

"So, thank you, guys. Salamat sa inyong lahat."

When he performed in America's Got Talent on February 9, Marcelito performed Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson's "Beauty and the Beast."

Marcelito received praise from judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mendel, and Alesha Dixon.

Simon also praised Marcelito's performance, but remarked that he should have done a "less predictable" performance.

Alesha even questioned Simon's comment and said, "How was that predictable, sorry?"

Some members of the audience booed upon hearing Simon's comment.

Marcelito's vlog post about the song choice has already been removed on his page, but other YouTube users were able to repost his video.
