As the host of The Amazing Race Philippines, Derek Ramsay tries not to have a favorite among the teams racing this season.

However, he admits that he has always been interested in Team Mag-Ama composed of AJ and Jody Saliba.

“I enjoy watching all the teams, but may soft spot talaga ako sa mag-ama dahil I'm very close to my dad,” said Derek during last week's press conference prepared for the top four teams.

The Kapatid host recalled the episode where the Team Mag-Ama struck him, “'Yong episode na natanggal sila, 'yon pa 'yong episode na parang bumaligtad si Jody.

“I guess, it's because of the competition and the stress that the show puts on you.

“Nakikita ko si Jody na sinisigawan ang tatay niya, nagagalit ako.

“Sabi ko, hindi ko gagawin 'yon sa tatay ko. Pero sa totoo lang, ganun kaming daddy ko sa golf course.”

He also remembered, “When Jody saw 'yong daddy niya bumabaligtad pero ayaw niyang sumuko sa hammock challenge.

“Si Daddy AJ talaga ayaw sumuko hanggang hindi na niya mahawakan ang duyan. That really hit me.

“I felt really sad for both of them. Pero hindi sila na-eliminate no'n, nabigyan pa sila ng second chance.

“Pero the following leg, natanggal na sila. I think they got really close after that.”

Team Mag-Ama was one of the teams eliminated during the double elimination last week. The other team was Team Nerds composed of Vincent Yu and Ed Manguan.

This weekend, the remaining four teams will race from Iloilo to Misamis Oriental to get to the Final Pitstop.

The final four teams—consists of Dating Couple Matt Edwards and Phoebe Walker, Magkapatid Jet and Yna Cruz, Chefs Elijah Estillore and Roch Hernandez, and Mr. Pogi bros Kelvin Engles and John Paul Duray—must give their best in order to have a shot in becoming this season's victors.
