Without a doubt, "kabitan serye" has made a mark on Philippine television.
The term was coined by viewers to refer to teleseryes that have themes of infidelity, where a scorned woman fight for her husband and her rights as the legal wife.
This theme has been used many times over, and usually follows the same plot showing the rise and revenge of the legal wife. And through the years, it has gained a massive following.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) lists ten infidelity-themed teleseryes produced by GMA-7 over the past ten years, and how each series performed in the ratings game.
The ratings in this article are based on the data from AGB Nielsen, the preferred audience measurement of GMA-7.
The only available data for teleseryes aired from 2011 to 2015 are based on AGB Nielsen Mega Manila ratings.
The TV shows aired from 2016 to present use available data from AGB National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM).
