FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano becomes a trending topic on Twitter on Friday, January 22, 2021.
This is due to an emotionally-charged action scene of Cardo’s (Coco Martin) group Task Force Agila engaged in a crossfire with the Black Ops Team, led by the characters of Geoff Eigenmann and Jane de Leon.
In the last part of the episode, Cardo was shot by one of the members of the Black Ops Team.
Cardo’s wife Alyana (Yassi Pressman) witnessed what happened to her husband that despite the continuous crossfire, she ran to Cardo.
Because of this, Alyana also got shot several times, with blood coming out of her mouth.
As Alyana’s body fell down near Cardo, they tried to reach and hold each other’s hands.
Cardo then told Alyana, “Huwag kang bibitaw.”
Upon holding each other’s hands, Cardo and Alyana both lost consciousness.
The episode ended with this cliffhanger, leaving the audience guessing if Cardo and Alyana were indeed killed in the crossfire.
The scene left netizens shocked based on their comments on Twitter.
Some were sad; others were mad about what happened to Alyana in the series:
A number of netizens were confident that Cardo, despite getting two gunshots, won’t die. They deemed the character as "immortal."
The reactions of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s fans made the hashtag #FPJAP5Crossfire and the names Cardo and Alyana trend on Twitter.
On Wednesday, January 20, 2021, a behind-the-scene photo of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’s shoot was leaked online. It showed the death of Yassi’s character.

In 2016, Yassi entered the show as Coco’s love interest after his original partner, Maja Salvador, left the teleserye.
It was Yassi’s first teleserye in ABS-CBN after her stint in Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7.
In March 2020, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano temporarily took a break on-air after production was halted because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In June 2020, it resumed airing on cable via Kapamilya Channel, after Congress issued a cease-and-desist order on ABS-CBN’s free TV and radio following the expiration of its broadcast franchise.
The renewal of network’s franchise was denied by Congress on July 10, 2020.
In October 2020, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano returned to free TV after ABS-CBN sealed a blocktime agreement with Zoe Broadcasting, Inc., which is now A2Z Channel 11.
