TV5 will soon premiere Hi-5 Philippines; will kick off talent search on February 9

TV5 will premiere Australian children's show Hi-5 in the Philippines.

TV5 is proud to announce its partnership with Hi-5 World, the Australia-based producer of one of today’s most popular children’s programs, Hi-5. The Kapatid Network will soon release its local version, Hi-5 Philippines.

Hi-5 is an energetic preschool show full of music and learning that has risen to international fame and is hosted by current members Mary, Stevie, Dayen, Ainsley and Tanika. The Hi-5 gang utilizes music and dancing to make learning more fun.

In the contract signing of Hi-5 with TV5 last February 4 at Bonifacio Global City, TV5 President and Chief Executive Officer Noel C. Lorenzana revealed that Hi-5 Philippines will follow the show’s international format while giving it a local feel.

Hi-5 as a brand is very strong and what you do with strong brands, you capture the essence you don’t go against it. Because the brand’s been built through the years and it’s been very successful.

"It's so successful that they’re now branching to other businesses, like schools which makes a lot of sense, there’s a lot of other extensions you can do with a strong brand.”

Jaenani Netra, from Global Sales and Operation of Hi-5 World, shared that the original cast of Hi-5 would be visiting the Philippines in the future to interact with kids and parents who support Hi-5.

“Yeah definitely, the point of having this is we would love TV5 to be the house of Hi-5 and eventually… doing a few things together, it could be a meet-and-greet. It could be teasers from the Hi-5 cast members, those plans are already underway. I think it’s just about trying to negotiate things and making it happen.”

Hi-5 Philippines will air Monday to Friday at 8:30 a.m., starting February 21, only on TV5.

TV5 will also open its doors to all interested talented, charming, bubbly young adults who love to sing, dance, and interact with children. This extensive Hi-5 Philippines talent search kicks off with a series of auditions starting on February 9.
