The anchors of TV Patrol took the jinx out of Friday 13th when, impromptu, they broke into a short TikTok dance at the end of their newscast on August 13, 2021.
The anchors Kabayan Noli de Castro, Bernadette Sembrano, and Henry Omaga-Dia have been doing their stand-up spiels in separate parts of ABS-CBN compound since May 2021 after Bernadette contracted the COVID-19 virus.
During broadcast last Friday, Noli, alone inside the studio, was delivering his usual outro spiel—"Happy weekend, Kabayan. Ingat, ingat at ingat pa rin. At magandang gabi, bayan!"—when the spinner suddenly played the popular TikTok dance music, "Gimme Hope Joanna."
The frame quickly switched to split-screen showing the three anchors.
Noli was going all out, even moving his body front and back!
Henry, wildly grinning, did little dance steps to the song.
Bernadette flashed her bright smile as she moved her shoulders while talking to the crew behind the camera, "Paano ba ito?"
Laughing, she mouthed the words "Tama na!," but she continued dancing.
Expectedly, a video clip of the TV Patrol dance episode was reposted on social media platforms.
The first to upload was the Instagram page @kabulastugan, which has been posting bloopers and funny moments on TV.
Its caption read, "ismayl muna"
The post has so far received 82.9K views at press time.
Among the celebrities who commented were TV Patrol showbiz anchor Gretchen Fullido and actress Angel Locsin.
Bernadette also liked the post.
TikTok also reposted the video clip, and lauded Noli's cute dance steps!
The TikTok post has already 17k views at press time.
