Cassy and Mavy Legaspi are in a celebratory mood, having just renewed their contract with GMA and GMA Artist Center.
After their contract signing on Monday, August 16, 2021, the twins of Carmina Villarroel and Zoren Legaspi shared their excitement with Summit Media websites PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Cosmo, Candy, and Preview during an inteview.
Cassy relates, “Mavy and I are super super excited and kanina nga, actually, tawa kami nang tawa.
“We were excited ‘tapos...present mga bosses. But we are very grateful na nagrenew.
“We’re excited about this new journey, we’re really excited for what GMA has in store for us.”
Mavy is extra gleeful that his contract renewal has coincided with his latest project— the upcoming prime-time series I Left My Heart in Sorsogon, his first teleserye.
He enthuses, “Nagsabay lang iyong renewal ng contract at saka iyong bagong serye ko. That was a great kickstart to our renewal ng contract.”
On top of that, Mavy is also proud that his sister already has a follow-up project after First Yaya.
He continues, “Cassy again has something in store for you guys, confirmed na. We can’t tell what kaya we’re both very excited lang to be in the Artist Center again, to be a Kapuso again.
“We’re very excited for what’s to come, but my focus right now is what I have which is I Left My Heart In Sorsogon.
“Bago sa lahat, iyon muna iyong focus ko and let’s see what happens in the future but si Cassy, naku, iyan na!”
MORE YEARS IN SHOWBIZ AS A KAPUSO
Cassy and Mavy jumpstarted their showbiz career when they signed with GMA Artist Center in 2018.
And both now say they've learned to love the industry.
Cassy elaborates, “I don’t know, I guess parang through the years with GMA, parang we got to love the industry more and more so we took it seriously.
“Parang we saw it as, ‘Oh my gosh, ito na pala, this is it.’ Hindi na guesting-guesting, talagang we’re fully dipped in showbiz na.
“So parang it’s exciting because we have our first teleseryes and, hopefully, first movies, projects here and there.
"It’s just exciting because everything is so new and everything is so fresh.”
Prior to being officially Kapamilya artists, the Legaspi twins appeared occasionally in variety or talk shows.
Mavy says their guestings turned out to be part of GMA-7’s plan for them to have the lay of the land first before throwing them into the waters.
According to him, this was pointed out to him by Lilybeth Rasonable, the network's senior vice president for Entertainment.
He narrates, “Feeling ko mas tuloy tuloy ngayon kasi our first contract with Artist Center, na-mention ni Ms. Lilybeth Rasonable na they just allowed us first to dip our toes in water.
“That was Studio 7 nga for our first year and for our second year, Sarap Di Ba?
“And then, All-Out Sundays and then first serye niya, first serye, ko we’re already flowing in the water so we’re ready to roll out the big guns.
“We’re very excited and, right now, I’m so excited. I’m so happy that I’m working in a serye and I’m really enjoying.
“I’m enjoying all the pressure and all the excitement, most especially.”
Cassy says about her home network, “I guess, maybe it was the way they welcomed us. Siyempre, Mavy and I are very new to this management thing.
“So when we signed with GMA Artist Center, they were so welcoming and it felt like entering this new home because parang family sila.
“It was scary at first but I don’t know, something felt comforting like we’re gonna be in good hands, and true enough, we are in good hands.
“We are very thankful and we’re very happy about this renewal because it means more time as a Kapuso!”
