Senator Chiz Escudero gets his wish to battle the mob in "1 versus 100"

Senator Chiz Escudero (in photo) will play for the P2 million jackpot for charity in the February 16 episode of 1 versus 100.

After playing in Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal last year, Senator Chiz Escudero wished he could play in 1 versus 100 to test his general knowledge, ability to strategize, and will to win.

In Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal, Chiz won P250,000 and donated it to charity.

"We already turned it over to the DSWD [Dept. of Social Welfare and Development] Home for Girls in Sorsogon, though sinisingil pa ako nung kalahati kasi kung nag-no deal ako, P500,000 sana laman nung briefcase," he said with a laugh.

Undeniably, Chiz is one of the most popular senators today. His charm never fails to attract crowds instantly wherever he goes. Charisma not only helped him win the senatorial race but also gave him instant celebrity status. He has been frequently invited to appear on television, not to mention having fans of his own.

What's the secret of his popularity? "I really don't know. Siguro as long as walang pagpapanggap, walang pagbubuhat ng bangko at walang pag-iisip na mas malaki ka maliban sa kung ano ka, ay magugustuhan ka talaga ng mga tao."

This Saturday, February 16, Chiz will again be seen playing for charity on ABS-CBN's game show 1 versus 100 where he is bound to face 100 "mob" challengers.

The same amount of pressure is still on, according to Chiz. "It's better to depend on luck. At least, ‘di mo iuuntog sarili mo sa pader in case magkamali ka sa pagsagot sa question, di ba?" Chiz said with another round of laughter.

Another problem that might come his way is the newly introduced rule "10 Picks" where solo players choose 10 mob members that they must eliminate before they can walk away with the pot money.

Find out if Chiz will be the 3rd player to win the P2 million jackpot in 1 versus 100 with host Edu Manzano this Saturday, February 16, after Volta on ABS-CBN.
