A huge cast joins Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla in their teleserye comeback, 2 Good 2 Be True (2G2BT).
The names were announced through a video uploaded today, October 4, 2021, on RGE Unit’s social media accounts.
RGE Unit, a drama production unit under ABS-CBN, is helmed by business unit head Rizza Gonzales-Ebriega with Ruel Santos Bayani as the head of ABS-CBN’s scripted format division.
The cast is a mix of KathNiel’s contemporaries, veteran actors, and teleserye first-timers.
Two of the veteran stars in the cast of 2G2BT are Ronaldo Valdez and Gloria Diaz, who both worked in the afternoon series Los Bastardos (2019).
Irma Adlawan, who is currently seen in the Kapuso prime-time series Legal Wives, will appear in the KathNiel series.
A freelance actress, Irma worked with KathNiel in the 2013 series Got To Believe, which incidentally was the last rom-com project of the love team on TV.
Romnick Sarmenta, Cris Villanueva, and Smokey Manaloto are also part of the project.
The upcoming series marks the return of Gelli de Belen to ABS-CBN after four years, and also reunites her with Kathniel. They were all together in the action-fantasy series La Luna Sangre in 2017, which was Gelli's last regular project with the Kapamilya network.
Gelli then did projects for GMA-7 while doing guest appearances in ABS-CBN in the interim years.
The other stars in the cast of 2G2BT are Matt Evans, Jenny Miller, Alyssa Muhlach, Pamu Pamorada, Kristel Fulgar, and Yves Flores.
Rise Artists Gillian Vicencio and Bianca de Vera are making their teleserye debut in 2G2BT.
Gillian is known for her portrayals in the movies Eerie (2018) and Four Sisters Before the Wedding (2020). She also did a guest appearance in the teleserye Huwag Kang Mangamba as the young Sylvia Sanchez, which makes 2G2BT her first regular teleserye.
Bianca, a popular TikTok personality, was also a finalist of ABS-CBN’s Junior MasterChef before she joined show business.
2G2BT will be directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, the director of KathNiel in their movies Crazy Beautiful You (2014) and Can’t Help Falling In Love (2017).
ABS-CBN and RGE Unit have yet to announce the show’s premiere date, but its taping is set to commence this October.
It was on September 27 when Kathryn and Daniel announced their return to doing teleseryes after four years, coinciding with their 10th anniversary as a love team.
This marks the first time that KathNiel is doing a teleserye outside Dreamscape Entertainment and Star Creatives.
Their first project in 2011, the weekly series Growing Up, was produced by Dreamscape Entertainment.
Their teleseryes Princess and I (2012), Got To Believe (2013), Pangako Sa ‘Yo (2015), and La Luna Sangre (2017), are all produced by Star Creatives.
