ABS-CBN has unveiled the jingle for its 2021 Christmas station ID today, November 8, through the release of its lyric video on TV Patrol.
Titled “Andito Tayo Para Sa Isa’t Isa,” the station ID gathered some of the Kapamilya network’s veteran and up-and-coming singers and love teams.
It also served as a homecoming for Piolo Pascual, who was not present during the 2020 station ID as he was doing a TV show with TV5 then.
But in the previous years—2012, 2017, and 2018—he figured prominently, and even opened the iconic 2009 Christmas station ID of ABS-CBN titled “Star ng Pasko.”
The presence of Sarah Geronimo, despite her absence in ASAP Natin ‘To, was also proof that she remains a Kapamilya.
As expected, veteran singers—Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Gary Valenciano, and Sharon Cuneta—were the main performers.
Sharon opened this year's lyric video.
Homegrown Kapamilya singer Erik Santos also sang a couple of lines as well KZ Tandingan, Darren Espanto, Inigo Pascual, ABS-CBN’s own P-Pop group BGYO who were tapped to sing upbeat and rap parts.
Adding kilig to the jingle were the love teams of Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin (SethDrea), Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan (DonBelle), and Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla (KathNiel).
The lyrics of “Andito Tayo Para Sa Isa’t Isa” was written by Love Rose De Leon, Robert Labayen, and Thyro Alfaro, who composed the music with Xeric Tan.
ABS-CBN also tagged the station ID as “Ang Christmas ID ng Pilipino.”
The Kapamilya network was the last to release its lyric video among the three networks.
This was despite the many spoilers that leaked around the Internet.
During Vice Ganda’s U.S. concert in October, a video clip showing the concertgoers singing the jingle along with him circulated on social media.
Sharon Cuneta and Toni Gonzaga also posted photos while wearing shirts that bore the theme of the station ID.
GMA-7 first released the lyric video of its station ID “Love Together, Hope Together” on October 17.
TV5 released its station ID, “Atin Ang Pasko, Kapatid,” on November 4.
All TV networks have yet to unveil the official music videos of their respective station IDs anytime soon.
And fans cn't wait to see their idols, especially those who did the big switch to a new network this 2021.
