GMA Afternoon Prime has unveiled its offerings for the first quarter of 2022.
In an omnibus plug released on YouTube, the Kapuso network's afternoon drama block reveals three new shows to be launched within January to February.
These will replace the currently airing programs in the afternoon block, namely Las Hermanas, Stories From The Heart, and the rerun of Ang Lihim Ni Annasandra.
The first of the new shows is Little Princess, headlined by Jo Berry with Rodjun Cruz, Juancho Trivino, Angelika dela Cruz, Therese Malvar, Jestoni Alarcon, and returning Kapuso Geneva Cruz.
The teaser shows Jestoni appointing his long-lost daughter Princess, the character of Jo Berry, to become the CEO of his company.
Jestoni's wife, played by Geneva, strongly disagrees with the decision and insults Princess because of her looks and background.
Princess hears all of these and defends herself, saying that her good heart will bring her to the top of her dreams. She then throws money bills at Geneva and tells her, "O ayan, pambili niyo ng manners."
Little Princess will air on January 10.
The second teleserye set to air on GMA Afternoon Prime is the much-anticipated book two of Prima Donnas. The hit series is top-billed by Jillian Ward, Sofia Pablo, and Althea Ablan.
The teaser shows Lenlen (Sofia) returning from her studies in Australia and being reunited with her sisters Mayi (Jillian) and Ella (Althea), as well as their former enemy, Brianna (Elijah Alejo).
The romance between Mayi and Cedric (Vince Crisostomo) will continue, while Lenlen and Ella will meet their own love interests, respectively played by new cast members Allen Ansay and Bruce Roeland.
The show's main kontrabida, Kendra (Aiko Melendez), is also shown to be alive and now has a new ally played by Sheryl Cruz.
Prima Donnas is now dubbed as the "bagong ginto sa hapon" as the color of its title card has been changed from silver to gold.
The monicker may also be a play on how Prima Donnas used to be rivals with another top-rating show from ABS-CBN titled Kadenang Ginto in 2019.
Prima Donnas is scheduled to air on January 17.
The last series slated to air for the first quarter of 2022 in GMA Afternoon Prime is Artikulo 247, starring Rhian Ramos, Benjamin Alves, Mark Herras, and Kris Bernal.
Artikulo 247 serves as Kris's comeback on GMA-7 after her contract was not renewed in 2020.
The trailer sets up the show's tension: Kris kills a man after catching him in bed with Rhian.
Rhian later figures in a romance with the character of Benjamin Alves.
Artikulo 247 will premiere on February 14.
Timeslots for the upcoming shows of GMA Afternoon Prime are yet to be announced.
