Luis Alandy reveals he will be the "love interest" of Marian Rivera in GMA-7's upcoming teleserye tentatively titled The Rich Man's Daughter.
After his guest appearance in Second Chances, Kapuso heartthrob Luis Alandy admitted that he will be topbilling a new soap opposite the Kapuso Primetime Queen.
The 35-year-old actor also shared that they are scheduled to start taping "by mid-March."
"Yes, I am very excited for that," said Luis when asked if it's true that he will be paired with Marian for an upcoming teleserye on the Kapuso Network.
If things go as planned, Luis believes that it will be easier for him and Marian to establish rapport on screen since they've done several projects together in the past.
"Actually, this is my third time to work with the GMA Primetime Queen.
"The first one was Dyesebel [in 2008].
"And then last year, nung nagkaroon siya ng Lenten special sa Eat Bulaga.
"I played the role of her husband [in that Lenten special].
"So, sabi sa akin ni Direk Mike Tuviera, nakita niya ko na may chemistry [kay Marian]."
Luis also shared that Glaiza de Castro plays a major part in the said project.
Without giving too much details, the Kapuso heartthrob said that the teleserye will tackle a "very controversial" theme that the viewers should watch for.
Avid fans of Marian will also see the Kapuso actress taking on a surprising role this time around.
After depicting love between two homosexuals through My Husband's Lover, GMA-7 will now depict love between two lesbians in The Richman's Daughter.
Writer Suzette Doctolero disclosed details about this upcoming soap series through her Facebook account. She posted: "A new soap for Marian. This is all about family traditions and values, and yes, it is also about Jade, this beautiful woman who is in love with another equally wonderful woman. The Richman's Daughter only at GMA-7. Abangan!"
The Rich Man's Daughter will be directed by Dominic Zapata, the same director behind the phenomenal gay-themed series My Husband's Lover.
In a separate interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Glaiza confirmed that she is cast as the female lover of Marian's character.
In fact, Glaiza is already watching movies that tackle themes about lesbianism.
