Maris Racal is one of the actresses who tried her luck at becoming the next Darna in ABS-CBN’s TV adaptation.
The topic was brought up during Maris’ PEP Live guesting on January 20, 2022, after she revealed her dream of doing a superhero movie.
With a smile, she began, “Hala! Haha! Lahat naman ata dumaan, parang ipina-try,” which meant a lot of Star Magic actresses were invited to audition.
The Kapamilya actress continued, “Oo, super dami naming nag-audition. Marami!”
But when asked to mention names, she quickly said , “I’m not sure, ayoko na mag-tell. Hanggang doon lang.”
Talking about the experience, Maris told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Nag-try din akong magsuot ng costume, it was fun.
“Na-enjoy ko siya kasi exciting iyong fact na nagau-audition ka for Darna, iyong lines, iyong rush na nag-au-audition ka.
“Iyong mga ganong moments, parang dapat happy ka lang, chill ka lang, parang gawin mo lang kung anong pinapagawa.”
Maris is also “super happy” for Jane de Leon, who got the plum role and is now set to top-bill ABS-CBN’s TV adaptation of Darna this 2022.
