For the first time since the shutdown of ABS-CBN in 2020, Coco Martin-starrer FPJ's Ang Probinsyano is able to beat its rival series in the ratings game.
This happens on February 1, 2022.
Based on the data released by AGB Nielsen NUTAM People Ratings, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano registers a TV rating of 11.8%, combining all the numbers from ABS-CBN's broadcast platforms on TV: TV5 and A2Z on free TV and Kapamilya Channel on cable.
Its rival I Left My Heart in Sorsogon gets a total TV rating of 11.2%, combining the numbers from its regular GMA-7 airing and its delayed telecast on Gtv at 9:40 p.m.
FPJ's Ang Probinsyano scores 0.6% higher than I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.
It is the first victory of FPJ's Ang Probinsyano in the ratings game since June 2020, or when it returned on air via Kapamilya Channel after ABS-CBN's broadcast franchise was junked by Congress.
Prior to the shutdown of ABS-CBN, FPJ's Ang Probinsyano used to beat its rival programs, except for GMA-7's Encantadia based on AGB ratings data in 2016.
FPJ's Ang Probinsyano is now in its sixth year on television.
Meanwhile, I Left My Heart in Sorsogon is down to its last two weeks. It is scheduled to be replaced by First Lady, starring Sanya Lopez and Gabby Concepcion.
First Lady is the sequel of First Yaya, which became the rival program of FPJ's Ang Probinsyano from March to July 2021. It emerged as the most-watched program of 2021 based on AGB Nielsen data.
