Bea Alonzo has started taping her first Kapuso series Start-Up, GMA-7's adaptation of the K-Drama series.
Bea is playing the role of Dani, originally the character Seo Dalmi played by Bae Suzy in the Korean version.
On April 4, 2022, Bea uploaded a carousel post on Instagram, showing photos taken during her first taping day at a five-star hotel in Pasay City.
She captioned her post (published as is), “First taping day for my new series as a Kapuso [heart emoji]”
“Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with this beautiful sunset today. This reminded us of how wonderful you are and how amazing your plans are for each and everyone one of us. I trust that you will guide me as I embark on this new journey.
“Handa na akong makilala ka, DANI. [heart emoji] #StartUp,” the former Kapamilya star ended.
In the Korean version, Seo Dalmi is determined to make her dreams come true and become the next big thing in the tech industry.
She will also find herself caught up between two men: the math genius, who founded a small company with his friends, and the big-time capitalist.
The Pinoy version is still a story in progress and has yet to reveal the circumstances Bea’s character, Dani, will get into.
According to Bea, Start-Up was one of the first projects pitched to her before she decided to sign a network contract deal with GMA-7.
On July 1, 2021, Bea Alonzo signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City.
She will be paired with Alden Richards in the series.
JERIC GONZALES ALSO STARTS TAPING
Start-Up cast member Boy 2 Quizon also posted in his Instagram Story his photo together with co-stars Jeric Gonzales and Royce Cabrera.
Boy 2 wrote, “Start-Up taping day [heart emoji].”
Boy 2 also used the hashtag #Threesons or “Three Sons,” which seemed to be the Pinoy version of SamSan Tech.
In the original version, SamSan Tech is a small company working on an image recognition algorithm project.
It was built from the ground up by Nam Do-san (Nam Joo Hyuk) and his friends Yong-san (Kim Do Wan) and Chul-san (Yoo Soo Bin).
Their company’s name was derived from the combination of three (which is Sam in Korean) and San (which is the common name of the three founders). Thus, SamSan Tech.
The specific roles of Boy 2 and Royce are also yet to be announced.
But Jeric is being rumored to play the role of Nam Dosan, whose name in the Pinoy adaptation has not been revealed.
Meanwhile, on March 24, a 24 Oras report indirectly affirmed fans' hunch: Alden Richards would portray the role of Tristan or “Good boy.”
The “Good boy” character, or Han Ji Pyeong in the Korean version, was portrayed by Kim Seon Ho.
Yasmien Kurdi is also part of the show's major cast.
Other actors who were announced to be part of Start-Up are Kim Domingo, Gina Alajar, Gabby Eigenmann, Lovely Rivero, Jackie Lou Blanco, Kevin Santos, and Ayen Munji-Laurel.
Jerry Lopez Sineneng, who worked with Bea in the ABS-CBN drama series A Love To Last in 2017, will helm the series.
GMA-7 has yet to release more details about the production, as well as its complete cast members and airing date.
