Beauty Gonzalez moves into a new talent management agency, the latest development in her career.
After being managed by Arnold Vegafria for the last eight years, Beauty is now under the Aguila Artist Management of another veteran talent manager, Becky Aguila.
To mark her latest transition, Beauty did a shoot with PEP.ph’s digital cover, PEP Headliner. Beauty is the first cover of PEP Headliner after its pandemic hiatus of two years.
During her interview before the shoot, Beauty expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome of her new manager.
“I’m very thankful that Miss Becky accepted me to be part of her team. I’m happy kasi ang daming nangyayari.
“This is the first one, I had a shoot. It’s been a while na nagkaroon ako ng shoot and thank you for having me and thank you to Mama Becks for working on this.”
Asked what made her shift managers, Beauty said it was time for a transition.
She said, “Yeah, I mean, the whole world is changing, kailangan sumabay na ako sa change.
“We should carry on. We should not be stuck with what’s happening.”
As with her previous management, Beauty has made sure that all negotiations would be “na-communicate” and not “shocking or disrespectful.”
WHY WITH BECKY AGUILA’S MANAGEMENT?
Beauty said about her new manager, “When I first talked to her, I felt like I see my mom.
“So, not a question anymore, I felt the mom presence, yung ganun. My mom is far away.”
Adding to that, Beauty trusted her gut feel, the same way she did in 2018 when she did not push through with her transfer to GMA-7 and returned to ABS-CBN.
“I don’t know, parang na-feel ko lang na I always trust my gut feeling even noong dati na I almost went to GMA but I ended up with ABS-CBN, because I followed my gut that I had to finish something with ABS before I go away.
“And yun yung nangyari, Kadenang Ginto. So, parang I always trust my feelings. So when I talked to Mama Becks, I’m in good hands.
“She’s really nice and bago pa lang kami pero I really feel that good things are coming.”
Indeed, according to Becky’s camp, Beauty is “off to a good start.” Aside from PEP Headliner, she is set to do “2 more magazine covers, 1 movie, and 1 major endorsement na dapat abangan.”
During the interview, Beauty also thanked her friend whom she did not name for connecting her to Becky.
However, before saying yes, Beauty also consulted her husband Norman Crisologo about the change.
She narrated, “Yung asawa ko nga, sabi niya, ‘Are you sure? It’s like old school pa rin na manager. Why don’t you get an agent?’
“But you know, I’m old school, e. As you can see, mahilig ako sa antiques.
“Yung gut feeling ko talaga na maalagaan niya ako and I’ll trust na lang with my gut feeling, nasusuwertihan naman ako sa feelings ko, and siyempre, a lot of prayers na lang din na it will be okay.
“But confident naman ako na I’ll be okay and I trust my lawyer.”
As for Becky, she only had good words for her new talent.
She told PEP.ph in a text message, “I instantly said yes when our common friend asked me if I want to manage Beauty.
“I’ve been watching her since Pinoy Big Brother hanggang noong nag-peak siya sa Kadenang Ginto, magaling siyang umarte.
“She has a very beautiful face, very nice body, and bubbly ang personality. Sabi ko, meron ito. Meron pa akong magagawa to push her career so that she fully becomes the star that she is.
“We are very excited and happy to have her and welcome her into our humble family sa Aguila Artist Management.”
Beauty started her career as the Fourth Big Placer of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus in 2008. She then became a talent of Star Magic.
In 2014, after portraying a string of best-friend roles in teleseryes, Beauty became Zanjoe Marudo’s leading lady in the prime-time series Dream Dad.
In 2015, she transferred to ALV Talent Circuit but remained a Kapamilya. She also portrayed a major role in the daytime series Ningning. However, her role was cut short when she got pregnant.
Beauty returned in 2016 to do movies in Star Cinema. In 2017, Beauty landed the lead role in the afternoon series Pusong Ligaw.
When Pusong Ligaw ended in 2018, Beauty was spotted meeting with GMA-7 executives. However, she decided not to push through with the transfer and stayed with ABS-CBN.
She then headlined the afternoon series Kadenang Ginto with Dimples Romana, Andrea Brillantes, Francine Diaz, and Albert Martinez. The series was such a hit that it aired for almost two years.
Amid the pandemic and the shutdown of ABS-CBN in 2020, Beauty did not stop doing projects.
TV5 got Beauty to headline the weekly series I Got You which ran from October 2020 to January 2021 and the prime-time series Paano Ang Pasko? from November to December 2020.
Paano Ang Pasko? was only supposed to run for two months as a Christmaserye but its creators decided to extend it for another season via Paano Ang Pangako?
In June 2021, Beauty signed a per-project contract with GMA-7. She was able to do two limited-run series with the Kapuso network: Loving Miss Bridgette and AlterNATE.
This June 2022, a year after she first signed with GMA-7, Beauty will headline the afternoon series The Fake Life, her first full-length drama series with the Kapuso network.
PANDEMIC STAR
Amid the pandemic where projects became limited, Beauty’s career has continued to flourish.
She did overlapping projects and transitions in management and networks.
When PEP.ph brought this up, Beauty remarked, “Hay, tumatayo balahibo ko, totoo iyon.”
She added, “Actually, my husband told me na nga na, ‘Ikaw lang yung walang pahinga, parang sunud-sunod yung nangyayari sa ‘yo.’
“Oo nga, I’m very thankful for it and I’m really thankful na tuluy-tuloy yung work ko, but I still know that I have to do a lot of work pa rin. Kasi, even though ang daming nangyayari, but I’m not there there pa rin.
“So, I have to prove myself, but I’m very thankful na all these networks are giving me the trust and confidence that I can do the job that they asked me.
“Siguro importante talaga yung mabait ka, you deliver. It will take you a long way and you take care of yourself, you look good all the time.”
