Laurenti Dyogi on ABS-CBN franchise renewal: "Ayoko nang umasa, nanggaling na kami dun, okay na kami."

Kung may isang pambabatikos na ipinukol sa Kapamilya stars na sumuporta kay presidential aspirant Vice-President Leni Robredo nung kasagsagan ng kampanya, ito ay ang hangad lang daw ng mga itong manalo ang kanilang pambato para mabalik ang ABS-CBN franchise.

Ipinasara ng National Telecommunications Commission ang broadcast operations ng Kapamilya Network noong May 2020. At ipinagkait ng 70 kongresista, na ang karamihan ay kaalyado ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, ang franchise renewal application ng ABS-CBN noong July 2020.

Ayon naman kay Laurenti Dyogi, nakapag-adjust na ang ABS-CBN sa loob ng dalawang taong walang sariling free TV ang dating broadcast giant.

Si Dyogi ay ABS-CBN TV and Entertainment Production head, at siya ring pinuno ng Star Magic, na talent management arm ng ABS-CBN.

Eksklusibong nakapanayam ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Dyogi sa Slay digital magazine launch na ginanap sa Resort's World Manila noong May 4, 2022.

Pahayag niya, "We survived two years without the franchise and without the frequency. We will continue with what we are doing, the best what we could do to serve the public.

"Ako, kung ano ang mayroon kami ngayon, yun na lang ang tatrabahuhin namin.

"Ayoko nang umasa, nanggaling na kami dun, okay na kami.

"We will continue to be a content company. We will produce stars and produce a lot of contents."

Ayon kay Direk Lauren, kung hindi nawalan ng frequency at franchise ang ABS, malabong magkaroon ng katuparang makipag-collaborate sila sa ibang istasyon at platforms.

"Ngayon nga, ang dami naming plataporma, nakakapag-partner kami. Kung may prangkisa pa kami, siguro hindi namin nagawa yun kasi naka-focus ang trabaho namin sa broadcast.

"Ngayon, happy na kami na marami na kaming nasisilbihan. Nagkaroon ng partnership with GMA, may TV5, A2Z, and a lot more.

"Yung KathNiel naman, first time mauuna pa ang Netflix. Maraming posibilidad, hindi ito mangyayari before."

Bilang pumalit sa iniwang posisyon ni Johnny Manahan, hiningan ng PEP.ph ng reaksiyon si Dyogi sa pagkukumpara sa mga artista ng Star Magic at Sparkle talents.

Si Johnny Manahan, o mas kilala bilang Mr. M, ay chairman emeritus ng Star Magic bago ito umalis sa ABS-CBN noong 2020. Si Mariole Alberto ang head ng Star Magic mula 2007 hanggang December 2020, bago ito nagretiro sa puwesto.

Sandaling nag-TV5 si Manahan, at saka pumakabilang-bakod sa Kapuso Network noong July 2021. Siya ang tumatayong consultant sa Sparkle, ang talent management arm ng GMA-7 na dating kilalang GMA Artist Center.

Ayon kay Dyogi, "Sa industriya naman, healthy competition is good. Kailangan talaga may competition 'cause it's good for the audience. That is the way of giving a product to your audience.

"We welcome many competitors, dun lalabas ang galing ng mga artista, dun lalabas ang galing ng management.

"Hindi naman kailangan mag-away-away, ang liit-liit ng industriya. Kahit naman nung panahon pa noon, Nora-Vilma, lagi naman talagang mayroong rivalry. Dun nae-excite ang mga fans."

Tinanong din namin ang Star Magic head kung nakapag-adjust na ba siya sa dalawang posisyong nakaatang sa balikat niya sa Kapamilya Network.

"Walang time para isipin kung naka-adjust na ako, trabaho lang nang trabaho. I have a good support system naman with all my managers," tugon niya.

ON ALEXA BEING THE FIRST COVER OF SLAY DIGITAL MAGAZINE

Ni-launch ang Slay digital magazine kung saan si Alexa Ilacad ang kauna-unahan nilang cover girl.

Aminado si Direk Lauren na sa umpisa ay nahirapan siyang kumbinsihin ang ibang Star Magic female artists na mag-cover sa magazine, pero sa magandang adhikain ng magazine ay napapayag nila ang mga ito.

Aniya, "This is a magazine, it'a a platform pursuing women empowerment and defining the new sexy.

"Well, sa umpisa siyempre, kasi iba ang definition sa kanila kung ano ang sexy, sa kanila nag-aalanganin.

"Like Alexa, she had to be convinced. Mayroon kasi siyang advocacy, e, so she stood by the advocacy and she believes in it.

"I thinks she's a good first cover of Slay magazine."

Sagot ni Dyogi, "For now, wala pa, it's a digital experience. Everybody can view it on YouTube, ABS-CBN Entertainment. This is monthly."
