TV5 and ABS-CBN landmark deal is now official

Nakasaad sa kasunduang nilagdaan ng magkabilang-panig na makakakuha ang ABS-CBN ng 34.99 shares ng TV5, at madaragdagan o mas marami na ang mga programa ng Kapamilya Network na ipalalabas at mapapanood sa Kapatid Network.

Namuhunan na rin ang MediaQuest sa SkyCable, ang pay television at broadband arm ng ABS-CBN.

Sa kanyang recorded video message, sinabi ni Pangilinan na para sa paglilingkod sa mga Pilipino ang dahilan ng pagsasanib-puwersa ng TV5 at ng ABS-CBN.

Kinilala rin niya ang pangunguna ng ABS-CBN sa pagbuo at paghahatid ng mga programang nagbibigay ng aliw sa Pilipinas at sa ibang mga bansa.

Payahag ni Pangilinan: “We welcome the investment and entry of ABS-CBN and TV5. ABS-CBN has always been the leading developer and provider of Filipino entertainment content in the Philippines and overseas as well.

“We now can achieve our cherished goal in greater measure of providing quality content across entertainment, sports and news in the service of the Filipino people.

“We are likewise pleased that our investment in SkyCable, we will support its expanded coverage nationwide on pay TV and broadband and raise its programming portfolio.

“This investment also allows us to improve on public service especially to the younger Filipinos provided by the Knowledge Channel and the DepEd Channel amongst others. I would like to welcome warmly ABS-CBN and all of its staff and talents into TV5 family.”

Ang malaking tulong naman na maibibigay ng ABS-CBN sa TV5 para lumago ito at maging bahagi ng bawat tahanan ng mga Pilipino ang sentro ng mensahe ni Mark Lopez tungkol sa alyansang binuo nila ng grupo ni Pangilinan.

Mensahe ni Lopez: “It’s an honor to speak on behalf of our fellow Kapamilyas at ABS-CBN and Sky and today, to the Kapatids sa TV5 and Cignal.
