Kim Chiu (in photo) cries for joy upon learning she will star in the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean TV series My Girl. ABS-CBN has collaborated with SBS Network of Korea for this project, which pairs Kim with loveteam partner Gerald Anderson.

The winner of Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Season 1 got another life-changing moment when she was chosen to play the lead role in the Filipino adaptation of My Girl.Kim Chiu could not help but shed tears of happiness upon learning that she would topbill the local version of the Korean TV series about secret identities and a forbidden love between "cousins."

The Cebuana-Chinese actress, who will turn eighteen this April 19, was clearly overwhelmed by the news, especially since she only learned about the big project during the March 7 press conference. "Utang ko po lahat ng kung ano ako ngayon sa PBB," she said before pausing to ask for water and compose herself.

She also empathized with fellow teenagers who had the same dream as hers: to be seen on TV.

ADVICE TO NEWBIES. When asked to give her advice to the next batch of youngsters inside Big Brother's house, Kim said: "Reality show kasi itong PBB so buong personalidad mo talaga makikita sa loob ng bahay.

Aside from playing the lead role in My Girl, Kim is also tapped as the onscreen partner of Gerald Anderson in the Claudine Barretto-starrer Maligno. Along with Gerald, she has two films in the pipeline with Star Cinema.
