"Guilty, and I remember I was still with GMA," napangiting bungad ni Joseph.

"Because I started my career with GMA. I was still doing commercial modelling that time. Yun yung time na nagsusunud-sunod yung commercial ko.

"Trinay ko lang. My manager that time asked me if I wanted to join showbiz. They gave me a show."

I wasn't reading.

Dahil napahiya siya, sabi ni Joseph: "I wanted to quit that time... You know, I don't want this.

Patuloy ni Joseph, "Pero everything changed when I transferred to ABS.

"When they gave me a big role, it changed my perspective when it comes to the industry and when it comes to the craft."

Balik-tanaw niya: "I started as a model. Gusto kong maging sikat. I wasn't really thinking about the talent.

"Parang feeling ko, showbiz is all about pagiging sikat.

"But as time goes by, I was getting roles na mas challenging, that's the time I've realized that this path is where I wanna go.

"I wanna take serious roles. I just fell in love with heavy roles, heavy projects."

Ilan sa mga teleserye kunsaan naging bida siya ay Pure Love (2014), Pasion de Amor (2015-2016), Wildflower (2017-2018), at Los Bastardos (2019).

Bumida rin siya sa mga pelikulang Talk Back And You're Dead (2014), My Rebound Girl (2016), Dear Other Self (2017), at Isa Pang Bahaghari (2020).

Kuwento pa niya, "That kind of challenge, that's what gets to you. That's what makes you an artist.

"Luckily, I was able to get offered roles like that, especially working with great talents."

ON CHOOSING THE RIGHT PROJECT FOR HIM

Paliwanag niya, "I tend to compare the projects that I did. Ngayon kasi, when you mature sa career mo, parang ang hirap na tumanggap ng light projects.

"I'm very thankful with showbiz. I was able to discipline myself for the role to the highest level.

"Lahat talaga gagawin mo to be in character—being physically fit, practicing something na kailangan ng character. Nakatulong siya sa buhay ko."

ON TREATING PEERS WITH RESPECT

Sabi niya, "You gotta be humble. You have to respect the people na mga nauna sa yo.

"They're the examples that you wanna follow, especially yung mga nagtagal.

"Dapat wala ka tatapakan, from sa pinakamababang tao. Coz you never know. Next thing you know, siya na boss mo.

"Just respect everybody—from the small people to way up there."
