KC Concepcion and Luis Manzano are paired together in "I Am KC"

KC Concepcion now tackles the role of a hotel chief-of-staff named Kate while her boyfriend Budoy is played by Luis Manzano. The second episode of I Am KC titled "Yes Sir" will air on ABS-CBN this Saturday, April 5, at 7 p.m.

Mega daughter KC Concepcion presents the second installment of her month-long drama anthology I Am KC this Saturday, April 5.

After portraying a tomboyish market vendor in "Binibining Palengke" last week, KC will portray a girl named Kate who is in charge of a hotel. Paired with the pretty actress is Luis Manzano who plays Budoy, Kate's boyfriend.

Kate is a workaholic who is bent on taking care of her ailing grandmother, portrayed by veteran actress Gina Pareño. Expectedly, Kate's dedication to her job puts a strain on her relationship with Budoy. Determined to put her career first and spend more time in the office, Kate ultimately develops a close friendship with her boss Ed (Albert Martinez). In a crucial business meeting, Kate saves the day by using her natural wit and charm. This makes Ed grow fond of her.

The boss-employee friendship will consequently open the doors for wonderful life lessons and the real meaning of happiness.

KC clarified that the episode, aptly titled "Yes Sir," is not as serious as it sounds.

ROMANTIC COMEDY. "It's a light romantic comedy with Luis Manzano and Tito Albert Martinez," explained KC to PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press who caught up with her last April 2 at the Marco Polo Care Center in Makati City.

KC, who is the World Food Programme (WFP) National Ambassador Against Hunger, handed out 10 sacks of rice and interacted with the beneficiaries of the said center as part of WFP's campaign against hunger.

She happily confided that the children of the Marco Polo Care Center watched "Binibining Palengke" and even imitated some of her character's moves in the said episode.

Talking about "Yes Sir," KC said that she's very happy working with veteran actors Albert Martinez and Gina Pareno.

Working with Luis was also a breeze. "'Makulit,' she described Luis, "talagang nagkakasundo kami para kaming magkapatid. Sobrang okay siyang kasama, siyempre mabait siya sa ‘kin.

She even had the chance to chat with Luis's mother, multi-awarded actress and now Batangas governor Vilma Santos.

"Si Tita Vi sobrang supportive ‘din," smiled KC, "nakausap ko siya sa phone...tuwang-tuwa siya. Excited siya dun sa project namin. And finally nagkasama rin kami ni Luis since magkaibigan naman kami since before."

KC also praised director Andoy Ranay. "Napaka-light kasama," she described Direk Andoy. "Bilang director wala siyang kaprublema-problema sa set. Sobra siyang bait. Sobrang supportive."

Catch the second offering of I am KC, "Yes Sir," on Saturday (April 5) at 7 p.m. on ABS-CBN.
