Ogie Alcasid is thrilled to be headlining TV5’s newest Sunday variety show, Happy Truck Ng Bayan, beginning on June 14 (Sunday) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We’re trying to revive that in a way na maiba ng konti. Kasi na-miss ng tao yung kumakanta kami,” said Ogie during the presscon of Happy Truck Ng Bayan last Wednesday, May 27.
Asked if he’s worried about a possible rivalry between him and Janno, Ogie insisted that they’re too old to be affected by such showbiz issues.
“Siguro nung bata pa kami.
“Alam mo nung bata pa kami siguro we were really pitted against each other lalo na dahil kay Manilyn Reynes.
“Pero ngayon nasa 30s na kami, we’re past that na,” Ogie quipped.
In fact, Ogie’s proud that Janno has resumed his passion for writings songs.
“You know, I’m glad that you pointed out that Janno is writing songs again.
“Natutuwa ako sa kanya. Strength niya talaga magsulat ng kanta.
“I’m happy that he’s writing songs.”
At the same time, Ogie is excited to work with the rest of TV5’s roster of talents including Gelli De Belen, Mariel Rodriguez, Derek Ramsay, and Jasmine Curtis.
The younger co-hosts are comprised of teen idols Mark Neumann, Shaira Mae, Vin Abrenica, Sophie Albert, Chanel Morales, and Akihiro Blanco.
Comedians Tuesday Vargas, Empoy and Kim Idol will also add spice to the show with their renowned talent for comedy coupled with the entertaining dance numbers from the new generation of Sex Bomb dancers.
“Excited ako kasi dito sa TV5 hindi pa rin tayo nagkakaroon ng show, since I entered [the network], na magkakasama kami lahat.
“Nagkikita kita lang kami ‘pag may presscon or trade show.
“I think it’s good we’re all in one show and magkakakilala kami lahat, finally.”
