It has become an open secret that Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano will get married this Independence Day, June 12.
There have been hints dropped by some of the guests themselves regarding the date of the wedding, which is very timely since June 12 is the 8th anniversary of Toni and Paul as a couple.
During the June 5 bridal shower, Direk Mae Cruz used the hashtag “#7days.” This has led people to believe that this represents the number of days before the actual wedding ceremony of the couple.
This belief is once again supported by the fact that ABS-CBN will air the wedding coverage of this Saturday (June 13), right after Maalaala Mo Kaya.
Perfect Together: Paul and Toni’s Wedding Special will feature the nuptials of the director and the TV host-actress.
The wedding ceremony in Taytay is expected to be star-studded.
Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, who played a pivotal role in Toni and Paul’s meeting, will serenade the couple and the guests with romantic love songs, while boxing champion Manny Pacquiao is one of the principal sponsors.
Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada has also confirmed that he will be a principal sponsor in Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano's wedding.
Meanwhile, Toni’s younger sister Alex, who organized a surprise bridal shower for her, will be the maid of honor.
Toni will walk down the aisle wearing a Vera Wang bridal gown, which she went to Hong Kong for twice for her fitting, while Paul will be a dashing groom in his Hugo boss suit.
Toni and Paul also enlisted the help of Rita Neri, noted wedding coordinator to the stars. Neri is the wedding coordinator behind the celebrity weddings of Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo in Batangas and Charlene Gonzales and Aga Muchlach in Baguio.
Toni and Paul first met at Gary V’s 23rd anniversary concert. Eight months since they first met, Paul began visiting Toni at the set of Pinoy Big Brother and Wazzup, Wazzup which then led to his visits at the Gonzaga household in Rizal. After nine months of courtship, Paul officially became Toni’s first boyfriend.
For eight years, the couple has managed to sustain their relationship despite busy schedules and strict rules enforced by Toni’s parents. Toni and Paul’s work tandem is successful as well. Paul directed two of Toni’s music videos: "Catch Me, I'm Fallin'" and "All Me."
It was only in February this year that Toni and Paul announced their engagement via the now defunct TV show, The Buzz.
After her engagement was announced, the lyric video of Toni's song titled "Finally" was released and dedicated to Direk Paul. It shows a montage of the couple's sweet moments, including the photo of Toni wearing the engagement ring.
