GMA-7 will air a special presentation of Imbestigador titled "Pinoy, Tapat Ka Ba?" on the May 10 episode of Sine Totoo. Host Howie Severino uncovers not the wrongdoing but the potential good in the average Filipino.
This GMA-7 show conducts a social experiment wherein an asset travels the busy streets of Metro Manila, from the business centers to urban poor communities, dropping a wallet containing P200. Hidden cameras capture the experiment's fascinating results.
The special will also show actual video footage of dishonest public servants caught in the act—those who come to work only to time in and out, those who spend more time in the malls than in their offices, and those who receive kickbacks on the side simply for signing papers.
The search for honest Filipinos eventually leads them to the capital of the country's northernmost province, Basco, Batanes, where they find a small coffeeshop named Honesty Café. What's interesting about the place is that for more than 10 years, it has been operating without any employees. Customers pick whatever they want from the shop then drop their payment in a cashbox. The unmanned café apparently has thrived for so long because of the trustworthiness of its patrons.
The program will be hosted by regular host Howie Severino and will also feature Imbestigador host Mike Enriquez and the show's producer, Vera Daffon, as they discuss the unexpected results of their city-wide wallet experiment.
