Ngayong weekend, August 22 and 23, ang semi-finals ng The Voice Kids.
“The first thing that comes up… it’s goes so fast. Parang dumadaan lang siya.
“And we had such little time with them. But then we're tracking up,” pahayag niya sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) at iba pang miyembro ng media na dumalo sa presscon ng Top 6 artists ng The Voice Kids na ginanap sa Cocoon Hotel sa Sct. Tobias, Quezon City noong August 19.
“But then if you really think about it… kulang pa. I wish we could give more,” lahad ng rock musician.
SPENDING TIME WITH PROTEGES.
Sabi niya, “I had a lot of fun. We had time to spend together away from the studio, away from the stage.
“I get to see the kids show what they are, what they do. Seeing and knowing them, I don’t think that personality has come up yet.
“Maybe that’s part of my job to let people see that as well. So let’s see what’s happens.”
MENTAL PREPARATION.
“Sassa and Elha, they have their own challenges. So I have to prepare a plan for each one.
“And it’s also a form of mental preparation. On how they will be this coming weekend.
“So it’s about mentally preparing them for that moment. That’s my job,” diin niya.
CHOOSING THE SONGS.
Ayon kay Bamboo, “We come up with a list. And what I do is… I like to hear them sing it.
“And if it moves me, affects me, or if nothing on that list works then I say, send me more.
“It’s different from the adults. ‘Coz you wanna get a song for them na part of their music or their repertoire that they know already.
“Kasi ang hirap. Because of the given the time [to prepare and study the song].
“But there are some points that they study something that I would suggest. If it connects with them, then that’s good, but if it doesn’t… then get more songs.”
LEARNING FROM HIS WARDS.
“To see their stories or what’s happening with them, that’s big. Yes this is a competition but for me, character as well is a strong point in moving forward in the show.
“Each season, I do learn a little about the kids. But the big part of that is I learn a lot about myself as well.
“I’m a quiet guy. I keep to myself, I do my own thing.
“But for these kids, I get so attached. I get emotionally moved.
“I really learn a lot from them,” pag-amin pa niya.
