How did Marimar 2015 remake fare in ratings game?

The pilot episode of GMA-7's Marimar 2015 was able to beat its ABS-CBN counterpart, Nathaniel.

Megan Young and Tom Rodriguez have not yet made an appearance in Marimar, but interest is already high for GMA's 2015 remake of the Mexicanovela.

Viewers are curious to see this second Pinoy remake of the teleserye that originated in Mexico, with singer-actress Thalia as Marimar.

The first Pinoy remake, also called Marimar, was also a GMA production that starred relative unknown Marian Rivera and matinee idol Dingdong Dantes in 2007.

In this latest remake of the popular drama, the pilot episode showed viewers a sharply edited narrative of the love affair of Marimar's parents (Zoren Legaspi and Alice Dixson).

Also in the narrative was the socialite ex-girlfriend (Ina Raymundo) of Marimar's father, whose jealousy and anger were directed at Marimar's mother.

The pilot episode of Marimar ended with Alice Dixson's character giving birth to a daughter whom she would name Bella Aldama.
