TV5 introduces “BAYAW for President” to educate voters about 2016 presidential elections

News5 makes use of comedy satire for its 2016 election advocacy campaign called “B.A.Y.A.W. for President."

Kontrabando star Jun Sabayton is tapped to play a nuisance candidate running under a fictional group called B.A.Y.A.W. or the Bagong Alyansang Ayaw sa Walang Hiya.

Months before the 2016 presidential elections, TV5 presents a series of vignettes to parody the country's current political landscape.

Through BAYAW, TV5 aim to disseminate information that will guide voters in choosing the right candidate during the elections.

“We use satire comedy to effectively communicate to our viewers the message that it's really time to use our minds and our hearts to discern on who to vote for,” explained Valdes.

The TV5 executive also stressed, “Umaasa kami na sa pamamagitan ni BAYAW, magiging pamilyar ang lahat sa trapong dapat iwasan.”

Jun Sabayton assures voters will get highly informative features about Philippine politics through this campgain although it is presented in a comic manner.

Lahat maiintindihan.”
