Filipino-Australian crooner Cyrus Villanueva enters the Top 6 of X Factor Australia Season 7.

The 19-year-old singer received a standing ovation from the judges—Chris Isaak, Dannii Minogue, Guy Sebastian, and James Blunt—for his rendition of Adele’s “Rumour Has It” on Monday, October 26.

Cyrus and his fellow contestants took on the “Trail blazers” theme for the fifth live shows of the talent show.

Guy Sebastian was happy to see Cyrus back in the game. He told Cyrus, “What happened last week was a rare moment for you and I think that’s why everyone was shocked because that’s what we’re used to.

“You know, there was a moment in that performance where there’s a spotlight shining on you and you were just dancing on that light. And I felt like I was watching something special.”

James Blunt was also amazed with Cyrus’ performance. He told the aspiring singer, “You stepped out on that stage and your voice is immaculate and I can tell you work like a little demon on that. But also, you have charisma as you move across the stage, you are a pop star.”

Dannii Minogue admitted that pop stars also makes mistakes every now and then. She said, “You deliver such different performances.

“The vocals are there and do pop stars make mistakes and have some bad days like you had last week?

“Yeah for sure, I mean you’re human.”

Chris Isaak, Cryus’ mentor, became emotional at one point and told his protege, “I’m so proud of you, you work so hard. They don’t know how hard you work, they don’t know.”
