4th Impact advances to next round of live shows at The X Factor UK Season 12

4th Impact—composed of sisters (L-R) Mylene, Irene, Almira, and Celina Cercado—performed Ariana Grande's chart-topping hit "Problem" for the first live shows of The X Factor UK Season 12.

Filipino girl group 4th Impact sails through the next round of live shows of The X Factor UK Season 12 after surviving the double eliminations round last weekend.

4th Impact—composed of sisters Mylene, Irene, Celina, and Almira Cercado— was supposed to perform “Shut Up and Dance” by Walk The Moon for the “This Is Me” theme of the week. However, the sisters decided to drop the song and pick another one.

Irene explained, “Picking the right song is very, very important.”

Almira continued, “Especially this is the first live show that we need to give a remarkable performance.”

4th Impact brought their A-game through Ariana Grande’s hit song “Problem” featuring Iggy Azalea on Saturday night, October 31.

The Cercado sisters earned positive comments from the show’s judges/mentors Rita Ora, Nick Grimshaw, Simon Cowell, and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.

Simon, who gave the first comment, was impressed with the girls’ performance. He quipped, “I don’t think I really need to say anything, do I?”

The renowned talent scout continued, “That was fantastic! Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic!

“You know what’s so good about you girls? You are great singers, and you’ve got attitude, and you’re passionate and you rehearsed, and I have to hand this to you tonight.

“You have done an outstanding job showing ‘em what’s good.”

Simon also commended his co-judge Cheryl for listening to her artists. He said, “I think a good mentor is when you listen to the artist and you listened to the artist. They knew what they wanted to be.”

He ended his comment by summing up, “The song is perfect, choreography was great, but the vocals were fantastic, girls. Congratulations!”

Nick described the group’s performance as “perfect.” He told the Pinay girl group, “4th Impact, well done! Congratulations! I’m so happy you did that song.

“That is so much more you, perfect song for you and I think you just set the level this competition needs to be at. It was incredible, it was perfect.”

Meanwhile, Rita praised the rapport of 4th Impact onstage aside from their vocals. The “Poison” singer said, “I mean that voice though, it’s like how does it come out of that body? I can’t even like understand it.”

She continued, “But what I love the most, do you know what? You guys have such a great bond, it’s just lovely to watch and I’m just really happy that you decided to come on this show to do that so thank you very much.”

4th Impact’s mentor Cheryl was the last to give her thoughts and told them, "Honestly, I couldn't be more proud. Please, you have to stop thanking us. We're thankful to have you. You are fantastic and this competition needs you.”

The results night of the first live shows happened on Sunday night, November 1 (November 2, Philippine time).

Bupsi from the Over 25 category was automatically eliminated from the competition for having the lowest public votes.

Alien Uncovered from the Groups category and Kiera Weathers from the Girls category were part of the bottom three and went head-to-head on the Sing Offs. In the end, six-member girl group Alien Uncovered was also sent home after getting three out of four votes from the judges.
