GMA Network earned nine recognitions during the 37th Catholic Mass Media Awards.
This was reported by GMANetwork.com right after the awarding ceremony held last night, November 4, at the Star Theater in Pasay City.
Among the TV shows honored by The Archdiocese of Manila were the Kapuso documentary show iWitness, the sitcom Pepito Manaloto, and Brigada. 24 Oras Weekend earned a special citation for Best News Program.
The "bayaniserye" Ilustrado won in the Best Drama Series/Program category.
Alden Richards starred in Ilustrado as the young Jose Rizal while his leading ladies were Kylie Padilla (as Leonor Rivera) and Solenn Heussaff (as Nellie Boustead).
Kid Kulafu, topbilled by young actor Buboy Villar, won the Students' Choice Award for Best Film. Directed by Paul Soriano, this biopic on the young Manny Pacquiao also starred Alessandra de Rossi, Cesar Montano, among others.
