Lola Nidora (played by Wally Bayola) celebrated her birthday on Kalyeserye while a budding love team was featured in the November 14 episodes of Eat Bulaga and It's Showtime, respectively.
EAT BULAGA. During the episode dubbed as #ALDUBHappyBdayLOLA, Lola Nidora was led to believe that something happened to Yaya Dub (played by Maine Mendoza).
They used this ruse to lure Lola Nidora to enter an events place where they held a surprise birthday party for her.
Lola Tidora (played by Paolo Ballesteros) explained that they chose to throw this kind of party because, "Naisip namin na bigyan ng children's party si Ate kasi isip bata si Ate."
During this event, Alden Richards introduced Divina Ursula Bokbokoba Smash aka Yaya Dub to his grandmother Lola Babah (played by Ai-Ai delas Alas).
A new character in Kalyeserye was introduced in the person of Eddie Garcia. He plays Don Eduardo, the brother of Lola Babah, making him the grandfather of Alden's character.
One of the highlights of the episode was the newspaper dance featuring sweet moments of Alden and Yaya Dub.
At one point, Alden carried Yaya Dub in his arms. For the finale, Yaya Dub rode on his back in order for them to win the game.
Lola Babah also did Lola Nidora a favor by saying that she is giving them time to raise funds for their mansion.
"Hindi pa namin ireremata ang mansion "Bibigyan ka namin ng palugid. Maliit na bagay...P20 million ang dapat para sa mansion."
In return, Lola Nidora reminded them that the heirloom ring that was lost by Alden cost even more than the mansion.
"Ang singsing ay nagkakahalaga ng P21 million," revealed Lola Nidora as the horn sounded, marking the end of the episode.
Before Kalyeserye ended, Alden could be seen carrying Yaya Dub around the party venue.
IT'S SHOWTIME. This episode, dubbed #ShowtimeHarana, showcased the "harana" done by Tommy Esguerra for Miho Nishida.
The tandem, dubbed as Tomiho, is the newest love team who have their own segment on It's Showtime.
Tommy, the Adult 2nd Big Placer in the recently concluded Pinoy Big Brother 737, expressed his love for Miho who emerged as the Adult Big Winner of ABS-CBN's reality show.
Tommy sang the OPM hit “Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok” while audiences witnessed his "harana" at the PBB house despite the heavy rains.
PBB 737 ex-teen housemates Bailey May and Ylona Garcia joined the kilig fest in their musical skit with Vice Ganda and Jay-R.
Three families battled it out in It’s Showtime’s Christmas caroling showdown “Karoling Galing,” where Garcia family from Laguna was hailed as winner and won P50,000.
Talented gays also competed in the weekly finals of “Todo BiGAY.” The groups EMU Cheerdancers did dangerous stunts while Alab Poi Dancers impressed audiences with their use of laser lights in their performance. They were declared winners and won P50,000 each.
Meanwhile, the It’s Showtime hosts offered a prayer for the victims of Paris terrorist attacks and for Japan’s safety after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit the nation.
MEGA MANILA RATINGS. Last November 14, Eat Bulaga was able to register a TV rating of 34.6% in Mega Manila.
It's Showtime, ABS-CBN's noontime show, got a TV rating of 8.8% on this day.
NATIONWIDE RATINGS. Kantar Media has yet to release the nationwide ratings from last Saturday, November 14.
