"TANAN" IN EAT BULAGA? The November 21 episode of Eat Bulaga showed how Alden Richards was willing to fight for his love for Yaya Dub (played by Maine Mendoza).
Dubbed #ALDUBSumptuousLunch, the Kalyeserye characters visited the grand mansion of Lola Babah (Ai-Ai delas Alas) for a big announcement.
Prior to this, Alden and Yaya Dub had a heartfelt talk regarding their status. Alden swore that he did not know anything about his engagement to Cindy.
"Pakinggan mo ang tibok nito," said Alden as he placed Yaya Dub's hand over his chest.
Yaya Dub said she had hesitations and while she was still talking, Alden suddenly grabbed her and hugged her tight.
Lola Babah gave jewelry to Yaya Dub, Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola), and Lola Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros) before announcing that her grandson will be marrying Cindy the Russian model.
Alden held the hand of Yaya Dub and told his grandmother, "Kailangan kong ipaglaban ito."
At this point, Alden and Maine stood up and they suddenly ran out of the door! They ran out of the door as they tried to leave the compound.
Alden carried Yaya Dub on his back and as they walked around the garden, he suddenly fell down. However, they just laughed it off and continued walking around the venue.
IT'S SHOWTIME. On this day, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, the stars of A Second Chance, made an appearance on It’s Showtime.
They performed the OPM classic “I’ll Never Go,” the theme song of their box-office hit movie One More Chance, for the grand karaoke session in “Singing Mo ‘To.”
Viewers also got to see the ToMiho tandem of Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida bring an early Christmas treat to the madlang people.
Former PBB 737 housemates Bailey May and Ylona Garcia (BaiLona) were also seen being sweet as they sang songs dedicated to each other in a musical skit.
MEGA MANILA RATINGS. According to AGB Nielsen data, Eat Bulaga was able to get four times the ratings of its counterpart program.
The #ALDUBSumptuousLunch episode was able to get a Mega Manila TV rating of 34.6% while It's Showtime got 8%.
(UPDATE) NATIONWIDE RATINGS. According to Kantar Media-TNS, Eat Bulaga got the highest nationwide ratings for a daytime show on this day.
The #ALDUBSumptuousLunch episode got a national TV rating of 23% in urban and rural households.
It's Showtime, on the other hand, got a 13.4%. This figure allowed it to tie with ABS-CBN's SOCO (Scene of the Crime Operatives).
