How did #ALDUBAngPagtatagpo and #TomihoTheDecision fare in ratings game?

In Eat Bulaga's Kalyeserye, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza welcomed the character of Vic Sotto (left frame). Meanwhile, Tommy Esguerra and Miho Nishida (right frame) publicly declared the status of their relationship on It's Showtime.



During the weekend, Eat Bulaga's Kalyeserye welcomed a new character while It's Showtime viewers got to witness the Tomiho love team enter a new phase in their lives.


EAT BULAGA. The family tree of Yaya Dub (played by Maine Mendoza) gets a new addition when her father is finally identified.

Vic Sotto joined the Kalyeserye of Eat Bulaga when he was introduced as Daddy Dod, the father of Yaya Dub.

Yaya Dub was excited to face her father for the irst time. She even introduced him to Alden Richards whom she described as a close friend.

Daddy Dod narrated that he was afflicted with a severe sickness that caused his hair to straighten and his body to shrink from being muscular to being thin.

He went to Davao and started an isawan business that was franchised by others and eventually grew to reach international markets.

Daddy Dod told the Tres Lolas, “Ako po ay nagsikap dahil pag dating ng araw, e, anak, maipagmalaki mo naman ako.”

To prove that he is the real Dodong, Vic Sotto had a Dubsmash duet with Yaya Dub.

Later on, the father-and-daughter tandem had an intimate conversation.

Daddy Dod: "Patawarin mo ako Divina, sa mga pagkukulang ko ha."

Yaya Dub: "Matagal ko naman na po kayong napatawad 'Tay, e. Nagpapasalamat din po ako sa inyo kasi kayo ang nagbigay ng buhay sa akin."

Alden was put in the hot seat when Daddy Dod asked him if he is courting his daughter and if he truly loves Yaya Dub.

In response, Alden looked at Maine and declared, "Divina Ursula Bukbukova Smash, Yaya Dub, M-A-H-A-L K-I-T-A. I love you.”

Daddy Dod then gave advice to his daughter, “Wag mo muna sagutin 'yan ha. Wag maging mapusok katulad ng nangyari sa amin ng nanay mo.

"Hindi pa kami handa no’n, kaya kami pinaghiwalay ni Senyora Nidora. Dahil away lang kami ng away. Kaya naging basagulero ako.”

Daddy Dod then informed Yaya Dub that he already got married to someone else. He showed their wedding photo and introduced Allan K as her stepmother.

Suddenly, Lola Babah (played by Ai-Ai delas Alas) interrupted the scene.

She officially announced that the De Explorer mansion is now for sale for the amount of P200 million.

Daddy Dod tried to buy the mansion, but someone called Lola Babah to triple the payment, raising the price to P600 million.



IT'S SHOWTIME. One of the highlights of the December 19 episode of It's Showtime featured a milestone in the lives of Miho Nishida and Tommy Esguerra.

Miho, the winner of Pinoy Big Brother 737, publicly announced on television that she is agreeing to become the girlfriend of Tommy, the First Big Placer of the Kapamilya reality show. 

During the Tomiho: A Love Realiserye segment of It's Showtime, Tommy asked: "Miho, puwede ba kitang maging girlfriend?"

Miho then recalled that she initially had doubts about the guy but she saw that he toko care of her mother and her daughter named Aimi.

"Tommy, nung nakilala kita dun sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya, halos araw-araw tayo nagkasama sa loob ng tatlong buwan, three months.

"Unang-una, sa totoo lang, hindi ako naniniwala sa iyo dahil siyempre PBB, show yun, e, ang daming camera."

Over the past few months, Miho said that she Tommy has remained consistent in showing his feelings and affection for her."

In the end, Miho said with a smile, "Gusto kong malaman mo Tommy na, yes."


MEGA MANILA RATINGS. How did the December 19 episode of Eat Bulaga fare in Mega Manila based on data from TV ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen?

The GMA-7 noontime show again emerged as the most-watched program and it was able to get more than four times the rating of its counterpart program.

The Kalyeserye episode of Eat Bulaga featuring #ALDUBAngPagtatagpo was able to get a Mega Manila TV rating of 30.2%.

Meawhile, ABS-CBN's It's Showtime got a TV rating of 7.4% for its episode dubbed #TomihoTheDecision.

This represents a 22.8-point gap between the two noontime shows.


NATIONWIDE RATINGS. Kantar Media-TNS has yet to release the nationwide ratings for this day, December 19.
