In 2016, Richard Gutierrez will be joined by Bangs Garcia (leftmost) in TV5's remake of Ang Panday. Meanwhile, Bernard Palanca, Claudine Barretto, and Diether Ocampo will star in the teleserye Bakit Manipis ang Ulap?

Claudine Barretto returns to television but this time, she will be seen on TV5.

After appearing in an episode of ABS-CBN's Maalaala Mo Kaya, Claudine is set to topbill a
teleserye titled Bakit Manipis ang Ulap?

She will be paired with former Kapamilya actor Diether Ocampo, who appeared in a Wattpad episode last November.

Also included in the cast is Cesar Montano, who is currently seen in the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Nilalang.

Aside from the previously mentioned teleserye, TV5 has a lot of offerings this 2016, after the appointment of VIVA Entertainment big boss Vic Del Rosario Jr. as its chief strategist.

ANG PANDAY REMAKE. Richard Gutierrez is set to topbill TV5’s adaptation of Fernando Poe Jr.’s movie, Ang Panday.

In this remake, Richard will co-star with Bangs Garcia and child wonder Alonzo Muhlach.

During the parade, Richard revealed that Christopher de Leon and Jasmine Curtis-Smith will also be part of this TV5 show.

SEARCH FOR NEW MULTIMEDIA STAR. Aside from these new teleseryes, TV5 will continue airing its ongoing shows Wattpad Presents, Parang Normal Activity,, Hi5! and Happy Truck ng Bayan.

The Kapatid network is also set to revive VIVA Television’s 2000 horror-drama anthology Kagat ng Dilim, helmed by Erik Matti.

VIVA Entertainment and TV5 will also partner in searching for the next multimedia star via the reality singing talent show, Born To Be A Star. It will be hosted by Ogie Alcasid.

TV5 Artist Center head Bebong Munoz announced during the TV5 media Christmas Party held at Novotel that this new reality show continues the tradition of Viva launching the best multimedia stars in the country.

Mr. Munoz said, “From the '80s, Sharon Cuneta, Regine [Velasquez], Sarah [Geronimo], Nadine [Lustre], so the next one, born to be a star!”

It can be remembered that Sarah was discovered via Viva Entertainment’s 2003 reality search Star For A Night.
