How did #ALDUB6thMonthsary and #ShowtimeSabadoPanalo fare in ratings game?

During the weekend, AlDub celebrated its 6th Monthsary on Eat Bulaga while It's Showtime continued with its search for the country's next singing superstar via "Tawag ng Tanghalan."

EAT BULAGA. The January 16 episode of Eat Bulaga made use of the hashtag #ALDUB6thMonthsary to indicate the milestone reached by Alden Richards and Yaya Dub (played by Maine Mendoza).

To mark this event, Alden sang "Akin Ka Na Lang" for Yaya Dub while they danced on the stage of the Eat Bulaga studio.

As they sat down, Alden said in a serious tone, "Seryoso ako, please, akin ka na lang."

Maine pointed out, "Ano ka ba, simula pa lang alam mo na sa iyo na ako."

Later on, Lola Nidora allowed Alden and Maine to have a solo date in the gazebo.

The AlDub love team also answered questions from members of AlDub Nation who were present at the studio.

At that point, the horn sounded, marking the end of the Kalyserye segment.

IT'S SHOWTIME. The January 16 episode of It's Showtime featured the hashtag #ShowtimeSabadoPanalo.

Dominador Alviola Jr. from Mindanao was hailed as the first semi-finalist of "Tawag ng Tanghalan" on ABS-CBN's noontime variety show.

The 44-year-old dad from Mati, Davao Oriental was able to beat competitors for five consecutive days. He first wowed viewers with his rendition of the Tom Jones hit "I Can't Stop Loving You." His power vocals also secured him a spot at the semi-finals with the song "One in a Million You" by Larry Graham.

When his winning streak ended, Dominador was able to get more than P100,000.

The judges of the singing competition was led by Punong Hurado Rey Valera and he was joined by Rico J. Puno, the 13-week Tawag ng Tanghalan Defending Champion, and Direk Bobot Mortiz.

The panel of judges also included Pinoy Dream Academy's first Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino; singer-thespian Karylle; The Voice of the Philippines first grand winner Mitoy Yonting; and acoustic singer Nyoy Volante.

Completing the set of hurados are K Brosas and Karla Estrada.
