Last January 23, viewers had the chance to witness the emotional pre-wedding celebration of Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna on Eat Bulaga while It's Showtime had a guest appearance from Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto and her co-star Xian Lim.
EAT BULAGA. Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza had a sweet opening number to kick off the January 23 episode of Eat Bulaga.
Maine looked lovely as a bride while Alden made a dashing groom in the opening dance number of #ALDubEBPreWedding.
AlDub almost kissed again when Alden brought his face close to Maine but he pulled out at the last moment.
During the Kalyserye segment, AlDub was asked when they wanted to get married and they both answered that they want to settle down five years from now. Both of them also said that they want to get married in a church.
During the special pre-wedding celebration, Bossing Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna both cried as they recalled the difficulties that they encountered in the past.
The soon-to-be-wed couple thanked the Dabarkads and their friends for showing support. Vic took the time to thank his children for being understanding.
AlDub was teased about a kiss and Alden gave in by giving Maine a kiss on the cheek!
To fulfill the first condition given by Divina, Alden played the ukulele to accompany the Spogify in singing "Thinkin Out Loud."
The Pambansang Bae also played "Stay with Me" on the piano and Maine even joined him in singing the love song.
IT'S SHOWTIME. In honor of the visit of Governor Vilma-Santos Recto, the hashtag #ShowtimeForALLSeasons was used last January 23.
Governor Vi appeared with Xian Lim to talk about their upcoming movie titled Everything About Her.
The Showtime family also celebrated the birthday of Jugs Jugueta on this day.
In Tawag ng Tanghalan, viewers got to see new contenders: Esther Martinez of Mindanao, Mark Gelmer Pieza of Visayas, and Winnie Vidad of Luzon.
Mark was able to move on the next round, allowing him to compete against Rachel Grabreza, the Defending Champion of Metro Manila.
In the end, Rachel emerged as the new semi-finalist of Tawag ng Tanghalan.
MEGA MANILA RATINGS. Last January 23, Eat Bulaga was able to get a TV rating of 27.3%.
Meanwhile, It's Showtime registered 10.9%.
NATIONWIDE RATINGS. Based on data from Kantar Media-TNS, the two noontime shows of GMA-7 and ABS-CBN just had a two-point difference last Saturday, January 23.
It's Showtime had a national TV rating of 16% while Eat Bulaga got 18%.
