Jasmine Curtis undergoes self-defense training for TV5's Ang Panday

Jasmine Curtis-Smith admits to having qualms about doing action scenes because it's not her comfort zone. However, she is willing to learn self-defense for her role in the upcoming TV5 series, Ang Panday.

Jasmine Curtis-Smith was torn when asked to choose the superhero whom she likes more: Batman or Superman.

But based on her answer, it seems like she is more in favor of The Bat over the Man of Steel.

"Actually, I'm torn between the two kasi ang gusto ko kay Batman unpretentious siya, so you really see his rawness and not hiding. Although he wears all of that [costume], kilala mo pa rin kung sino siya," the TV5 actress told the press at Smart Communications' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice event held last February 15 at SM Megamall.

As for Superman, Jasmine explained, "Of course, we have Superman, double identity siya.

"But what I like about Superman is that he has a Lois Lane [Superman's love interest], bina-balance niya yung life niya."

ON PANDAY.
Speaking of superheroes, Jasmine will be the leading lady of Richard Gutierrez in the upcoming TV5 fantasy series, Ang Panday.

The fictional Filipino superhero is endowed with a mystical sword that he uses to fight evil and defend the weak.

For her role, Jasmine is required to do action scenes, which she admitted is not her comfort zone.

"Apprehensive ako kapag action ang pinag-uusapan na show because 'di ko siya strength.

"Even in real life, exercising or working out does not come naturally to me."

Nevertheless, Jasmine is up for the challenge and is already preparing to train for stunts.

"So far, nagti-train ako kasi kailangan marunong ako ng konting self-defense and I think sword fighting, but I haven't trained for that specifically just yet.

She continued, "I think this will require more stunts for me because yun yung binigay nila sa akin na role, na mas street-aware ako, kumbaga ako yung magtuturo sa kanya [Richard's role] how to fight a certain battle.

"Everytime I would see him casually when we're out we're never awkward or anything we can hold a conversation. I'm sure naman were okay work-wise."
