Eat Bulaga had an awarding ceremony while 2NE1 singer Sandara Park appeared as a guest on It's Showtime last Saturday, April 2.
EAT BULAGA. GMA-7's noontime show handed out recognitions during the 3rd EB Dabarkads Awards that aired last Saturday.

The episode, which used the hashtag #ALDUB3rdEBAwards, also featured a competition among aspiring Yayas in the Kalyeserye segment.
Divina (Maine Mendoza), Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola), Lola Tinidora (Jose Manalo) held the grand showdown to choose among the contestants vying to be the Yaya to work in the mansion.
Viewers got to see Alden Richards in a summer outfit at the Eat Bulaga studio, warming up and stretching. Lola Nidora inquired if he was going to join the challenges for the Yayas.
However, the Pambansang Bae asked: “Lola, pwede po ba ako mag-apply? Tag-alaga ng puso ni Maine.”
Maine exchanged knock-knock jokes with her AlDub love team partner. Alden asked: “Who’s there?” and Divina replied, “I miss.”
Alden asked again, “I miss who? and Maine simply said, “I miss you.”
Going back to the contest, Lola Nidora asked Alden to assist them in selecting the best Yaya.
After the joke portion, the four applicants were introduced. First, was Yaya In dressed in black, followed by Yaya Glo, the lady in red. The third yaya to be introduced was Yaya Pak in fuchsia attire and the fourth contender is Yaya Git in a canary yellow strapless jumpsuit.
The Yayas had to complete challenges that tested strength and coordination.
The challenge is composed of four stations with equivalent tasks. In Station 1, the aspiring Yaya had to wear two coconut husks as footwear and run to Station 2 to do the next task.
Station 2 is the laundry sorting station. Yaya has to sort colored outfits from and white clothes and “shoot” the clothes into two basins.
In Station 3, the contestant had to use a dipper in order to transfer water into two pails. Once the pails are full, Yaya carries the pails to Station 4. In the 4th station, Yaya has to wear a sleeping outfit before going to his respective platform.
The first one to complete all tasks in the quickest time wins the challenge. Yaya Glo landed in the No. 1 slot, with Yaya In and Yaya Pak, coming in 2nd and 3rd. The last to finish the challenge was Yaya Git.
Just as they were about to announce the name of the winner, the horn suddenly sounded, marking the end of the episode.
IT'S SHOWTIME. The April 2 episode of ABS-CBN's noontime show used the hashtag #TNT1stSemifinaLs, with TNT referring to Tawag ng Tanghalan.
The afternoon was spiced up thanks to a visit from 2NE1 member Sandara Park, who was the guest player in the Trabahula Segment.
In the Tawag ng Tanghalan segment, five contestants competed in the semi-finals.
From Makati City, Rachel Gabreza performed Regine Velasquez’s “Say That You Love Me” as her contest piece.
Maricel Callo also sang a Regine Velasquez hit, “Sana Maulit Muli.”
Dominador Alviola Jr. from Mindanao, serenaded the crowd with a Tom Jones’ song “I’ll Never Fall In Love Again.
Performing Michael Bolton’s “Said I Loved You but I Lied” was Jaime Navarro. The last performer that afternoon was Mary Gidget Dela Llana who belted out the high notes in her version of Idina Menzel’s “Let It Go.”
In the end, it was Mary Gidget dela Llana and Maricel Callo earned the judges' approval, allowing them to become grand finalists for the finale of Tawag ng Tanghalan.
Birthday girl Karylle also entertained viewers with a thrilling performance.
MEGA MANILA RATINGS. How did the April 2 episode of Eat Bulaga fare in Mega Manila, based on data from TV ratings data supplier AGB Nielsen?
Eat Bulaga registered a Mega Manila TV rating of 22.4% last Saturday.
This is much higher compared to It's Showtime, which got 14.3% that day.
NATIONWIDE RATINGS. More viewers nationwide tuned into It's Showtime, which had K-pop superstar Sandara Park as guest and the Tawag ng Tanghalan semi-finals.
It's Showtime got a national TV rating of 21.3%, based on Kantar Media-TNS.
Meanwhile, Eat Bulaga had a national TV rating of 14.8%.
