Luis Manzano prefers to be an effective host than a heartthrob

Luis Manzano will host ABS-CBN's new game show, Family Feud, which will begin airing this Saturday, April 9.

Luis Manzano can be considered one of the busiest and most effective hosts on local television, be it game shows, talent shows, or variety shows.

Currently, Luis hosts ASAP, Pilipinas Got Talent, and the upcoming game show Family Feud, which will premiere on ABS-CBN this Saturday, April 9.

Luis also hosted recently concluded game shows such as Celebrity Playtime and Kapamilya Deal Or No Deal.

During the press conference of Family Feud, the actor-host stated that he’d rather be recognized as a good host than a heartthrob.

“I will be a firm believer na ang daming gwapo sa industriya, hindi ako yung pang-mall show na kikiligin ang mga tao sa akin,” he explained.

“Pag nag-mall show ako, baka magalit pa sa akin ang mga tao, e.

“Pero I’m a firm believer na mas gugustuhin akong kausap ako ng tao, mas gugustuhin ng tao na makipagkulitan sa akin. I’d rather have that any day of the week than ‘yang kinakikiligan ako na kunwari feeling pogi ako.

“Kasi I know for a fact na ‘yan ang mga Piolo [Pascual] mga ganyan. Sila na ‘yan.

“Mas gugustuhin ko na makipag-high five sa tao, mag-usap tayo, magkulitan tayo.”

Unlike previous game shows he had hosted, Luis said that he finds Family Feud exciting because it is a breath of fresh air.

“Nung in-offer sa akin ang Family Feud, sobra akong na-excite kasi for example, when I did Minute To Win It, when I did Deal Or No Deal, para sa akin it’s very repetitive, para sa akin there is one particular formula for Minute To Win It, for Deal Or No Deal.

“Pero for Family Feud, the reason why I’m very excited is because every answer is different.

“There’s always a new punch line waiting, mas madaling mangulit dito, unlike sa Deal Or No Deal, medyo seryoso ako, dapat sa Minute To Win It, mas ibang-iba.

“So for this, I’m very excited na mas makakakulit ako na ang daming bagong answer na mabibigay.”

Luis also stated that he does not see the need to change his personality for this particular game show.

He explained that he never changed his personality in his 34 years and given the number of hosting projects he hosted, it must mean that he is doing something right.
