“We have NEVER chosen a housemate based on SHARING a photo on Facebook.”
This is part of the statement issued by ABS-CBN's reality show, Pinoy Big Brother, in response to a hoax contest that spread on Facebook.
Several weeks ago, a fake PBB Facebook page told its followers that the next set of housemates will be chosen from FB users who share a certain photo of the PBB house.
However, the official Facebook account of PBB countered this claim by issuing a statement that warned the public about the false housemate selection process.
They stated in their post: “We would like to remind everyone to please be guided when sharing information online.
“We have NEVER chosen a housemate based on SHARING a photo on Facebook.
“Make sure you're following our official page that has a blue check which means it has be verified by Facebook and our other official social media accounts.”
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, the post in the fake PBB page had already gained over 150,000 shares on Facebook before it was taken down last Monday.
PBB SEASON 7. Meanwhile, a new set of housemates will enter the closely monitored house as PBB announced that it will hold auditions soon for Season 7.
They also posted a teaser about the upcoming auditions for the new season:
“Ikaw na kaya ang susunod na BIG WINNER? Get ready for our ?#PBBSeason7 auditions!”
In last year’s big night, host Mariel Rodriguez told viewers, “See you next year!” which indicates that a new season will be aired this 2016.
