Ever feel like just staying indoors with your fan or A/C on and just do nothing because every single movement makes you sweat?
We just hit 36 degrees Celsius this summer and everyone just feel like melting.
Aside from going to the beach (or any body of water), Filipinos' favorite pastime is marathon-watching.
Those who love binge-watching on their favorite TV shows and movies will be pleased to know that they have another source of entertainment available online.
ABS-CBN, Star Cinema and Cinema One Original Productions recently formed a partnership with iFlix Philippines. Over 1,500 hours of our favorite Kapamilya shows and movies are now available for streaming on the internet TV service app.
Country Manager Sherwin dela Cruz said that it took them months to finally bring their subscribers a much-awaited line-up of Kapamilya shows and more is yet to come.
The internet TV service executive told PEP, "This is actually the first phase pa lang ng talks namin with ABS-CBN, We've closed 1,500 hours of content."
He continued, "We're exploring more pa. How can we do more exclusives? How can we do catch-ups? How can we do original productions, co-producing content so on. People are gonna expect a lot talaga with this partnership."
Let's just cut to the chase, turn your A/Cs to the coolest and prepare popcorn as you watch these Kapamilya shows on the streaming app:
1. Maging Sino Ka Man.
Remember when Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz and Sam Milby starred in this ABS-CBN drama? This Kapamilya show became such a phenomenon in 2006 because of its story line and powerhouse cast. With its success, the Kapamilya network even made a Book 2 for the series and added Toni Gonzaga, Angelica Panganiban, and Derek Ramsay to its main cast.
Before Teen Wolf became a hit in the U.S., we already had Angel Locsin and Piolo Pacual's Lobo which was released on primetime TV in 2008. In the series, Angel played the role of Lyka, an aspiring fashion designer who turns out to be a she wolf. Lyka fell in love with an army man named Noah which was played by Piolo Pascual. The series also had a sequel titled Imortal which tells the story of Lyka's daughter (also played by Angel) and her love story with a vampire named Mateo (played by John Lloyd Cruz).
3. Tayong Dalawa.
Gerald Anderson's dream to portray a soldier on TV came true via this project. Gerald and Jake Cuenca played characters who were both named David Garcia Jr. They turned out to be half-brothers separated at birth. Gerald and Jake's characters became best friends but turned into bitter rivals when they both fell in love with the same girl named Audrey, played by Kim Chiu.
4. Sana Maulit Muli is also one of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson's most-watched drama series on ABS-CBN which premiered in 2007. Gerald played Travis who went back in time to save the life of his true love named Jasmin, played by Kim. However, Travis' attempt to prevent Jasmin from dying in an accident came with a high price.
5. Sa Piling Mo is one of 2006's most-watched primetime drama series which starred Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual. Judy Ann was cast as Jennifer, a barrio lass who fell in love with her childhood sweetheart named Adrian, played by Piolo. Fate, however, separated them and Adrian fell in love with Nicole (Rica Peralejo) who helped him restore his eyesight.
