Last Saturday, April 16, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza made a big announcement on Eat Bulaga while It's Showtime turned into one big music session for the guests that day.
EAT BULAGA. The #ALDUB9thMonthsary Kalyeserye segment of Eat Bulaga opens with Alden Richards and Divina (Maine Mendoza) rehearsing for their special dance number.
The AlDub love team danced to the tune of Taylor Swift's "Love Story."
Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola) said it was time for Alden and Maine to open the gift box.
The first item that was brought out was a key, which turned out to be a duplicate for the one used in the mansion. Lola Tinidora (Jose Manalo) said she needed this extra key.
They also pulled out a wedding gown sketch and a cute baby doll in pink, which gave rise to speculations about the two getting married.
However, the final object brought out was a movie clapperboard, which signified that AlDub will be doing a much-awaited movie for all their fans.
Lola Nidora told the two, “Eto na ang panahon na magkaroon ng sarili ninyong pelikula. Deserve ninyo ito kaya payag ako.”
Maine admitted, “Dream come true sa amin ni Alden. At promise, gagalingan namin…”
Alden was emotional as he said, “Nung nagsimula po yung paglalakbay namin ni Maine, hindi po naging madali sa lahat sa amin. Sa mga nagmamahal sa amin. Sa mga taong bumuo ng Kalyeserye. Marami kaming pinagdaanan. Masarap talaga at the end of the day, marami kayong makikitang mga nagmamahal sa inyo kagaya dito sa studio.
“Sa lahat po naghihintay sa mga nagdududa sa amin ni Maine, at sa mga hindi na makapaghintay...
“Excited po kami ni Maine gawin itong proyekto para sa lahat po na sumusuporta at mga nagmamahal sa amin."
He turned to Maine and told her, “I can’t wait to do this movie with you. Let’s prove them wrong.”
Alden hugged Divina tightly and shed a few tears. Before he let go, he then kissed her tenderly on the forehead.
The fans were teasing them to kiss. Lola Nidora jokingly said, “Abangan ninyo sa pelikula.”
For her parting words to the young stars, Lola Nidora reminded them, “Huwag ninyong sayangin ang tiwala ng tao sa inyo… ito ang pelikulang tatatak sa kasaysayan ng pelikulang Pilipino.”
