Filipina Broadway star Lea Salonga definitely stole the limelight in the series finale of the Hollywood show Crazy Ex Girlfriend.
The Tony award-winning theater actress impressed viewers of the show with her rendition of the love song "One Indescribable Instant."
Lea appeared as a guest on musical-comedy series to play the role of Aunt Myrna who serenaded guests in the wedding of her niece.
The finale episode titled "Paula Needs to Get Over Josh" was aired last Monday, April 18 (U.S. time).
The series made headlines both here and in the U.S. for being one of the first American drama series to feature a Filipino-American family. Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has also been commended by members of the Asian community in the U.S. for breaking stereotypes on Asian men who are typically portrayed as nerds, emasculated, socially awkward, and unattractive on American entertainment.
She recalled, "Vincent Rodriguez, who plays Josh, was so excited when he found out that Lea Salonga was gonna be in the episode that he fainted."
In her Instagram account, Lea also uploaded a photo of them together and provided the caption: "This is probably the most spoiler-free photo taken during my three days working on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Everyone I worked with was super nice. They've got a great family over there. Thank you so much for having me! I had such a wonderful time!!! #CrazyExGF PS - Thanks to @vrodrigueziii for this pic! I used the Valencia filter."
