Heart Evangelista seems to believe in the motto, #YOLO (you only live once), which is why she accepted her role as Happy in GMA-7's upcoming primetime series Juan Happy Love Story.
Based on the teaser shown to entertainment reporters during its recent press conference, a naughty Heart is seen teasing Dennis Trillo's character named Juan.
The usually conservative actress said she didn't hesitate to portray Happy's character because, she said with a smile, “[Y]ou know, you're only young once.
“After this hindi ko na alam kung ano na ang plano ko sa buhay.
“Feeling ko mag-a-anak na ako or something.
“So might as well enjoy, habang bata pa, gawin na ang pwede pang gawin, and move on.”
As a married actress, Heart says she wants to prioritize her commitment to GMA before giving her 100 percent focus on her personal life.
She explained, “Kasi, siyempre, I also want to give myself a chance to live a normal life.
“Siguro kapag nabuntis na ako at nagka-baby na ako, I'm really going to prioritize my time.
“Hindi ko alam kung magte-taping ako after that. I don't know my plans yet.
“Ngayon na may contract ako with GMA for two years, we'll make sure na gagawin ko na ang lahat, enjoy-in ko na. After that, let's see what I will do with my life.”
The naughty and sexy love story of Juan and Happy will be aired beginning May 16 on GMA Telebabad. It will be directed by L.A. Madrilejos.
BEING THE WIFE OF DENNIS. In the series, Heart is cast as the wife of Dennis Trillo's character. When the conflict of the story happens, Heart seduces Dennis by doing naughty gestures that are normally done by wives to their husbands.
Since she rarely does this kind of acting (the last time was for the 2011 movie Temptation Island), Heart admitted she initially felt uneasy doing it with Dennis.
“Siyempre, sobrang ilang ako,” she recalled.
“Si Dennis, sobrang relax lang siya. Pero ako, naiilang ako kasi never naman ako nagkaroon ng ganitong show o chance para maipakita ang aking naughty side.
“After a while, parang normal na lang siya kasi parang paulit-ulit na lang.”
In a separate interview, PEP asked how her husband, Chiz Escudero, reacted to her new project.
The Kapuso actress replied, “Ako, siguro swerte ako kasi nakapangasawa akong isang tao na sobrang supportive.
“Hindi siya 'yong seloso talaga. So, wala akong problema sa ganyan, which is important lalo na kung artista ka at 'yon ang trabaho mo.
“Mahirap intindihin 'yon, pero para sa kanya, hindi talaga siya 'yong the jealous type.”
Joining Heart and Dennis on this series are Gloria Romero, Nick Lizaso, Gardo Versoza, Lotlot de Leon, Jorros Gamboa, Ericka Padilla, Dominic Rocco, Arianne Bautista, and newcomers Kim Domingo, Vincent Magbanua, and Rob Moya (son of '80s actor Jovit Moya).
