Mariel Rodriguez will continue hosting on It's Showtime despite delicate pregnancy.
“Wala pa kaming arrangement. Basta hanggang kaya ko,” Mariel told entertainment reporters who interviewed her and her husband Robin Padilla when they were launched as new ambassadors of Hotel Sogo yesterday, May 24.
“Dapat talaga complete bed rest ako,” said the Kapamilya TV host.
However, Mariel continues hosting the noontime show because, “Sabi nga naman ni Robin, we don't feel na Showtime is giving me any stress.
“If not, napapa-happy pa nga nila ako.”
She is thankful that her co-workers on It's Showtime are taking good care of her by giving her light tasks for the show.
Mariel pointed out, “Pumapasok pa rin ako pero ang ginagawa ko lang dun ay nagho-host ako ng opening, nakaupo lang ako the whole time, 'tapos 'Tawag ng Tanghalan' lang ako.
“So, majority of the time nakaupo lang talaga ako.”
Likewise, Robin agreed that his wife shouldn't go on maternity leave yet from It's Showtime.
“Kasi, inaalagaan ka naman nila,” he turned to Mariel.
He also noted, “Masyadong masaya si Mariel dun.”
Mariel then reiterated, “Basta hanggang kaya ko, we will do it.”
Robin concluded in jest, “Kahit hindi mo na kaya, ihahatid kita dun.”
Meanwhile, the couple is set to leave the Philippines this June. Robin will be flying ahead to Dubai to meet his daughter Queenie. Mariel will meet him there by June 1. Then, they will fly together to the Netherlands.
“Ihahatid niya lang ako dun,” said Robin.
Robin declined to give the reason for traveling to the Netherlands, where he shot his previous movie 10,000 Hours.
