Hay Bahay director Bibeth Orteza (rightmost) is joined by stars (L-R) Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, Oyo Sotto, Kristine Hermosa, Vic Sotto, and Ai-Ai delas Alas.

What triggered Kristine Hermosa to accept a project with GMA-7 after years of being a housewife to Oyo Sotto?

“Matagal ko nang ipinagdasal ito, e, madaming offer yung ABS sa akin dati pero parang hindi ko nararamdaman masyado, e," admitted Kristine during the press conference of Hay Buhay on June 13.

"So, sabi ko I want something na hindi ko masa-sacrifice yung time ko with family and yun hindi ko mapapabayaan obligasyon ko siyempre bilang asawa at saka nanay ng mga anak ko."

Kristine reiterated that she prefers to do a comedy show rather than a soap opera since she has been doing heavy drama for most of her career.

Since she is four months pregnant now, will they incorporate her pregnancy in the story?

Director Bibeth Orteza assured that they will include this in the storyline of the sitcom, which replaces Vampire Ang Daddy Ko.

In Hay Bahay, Kristine Hermosa is cast as Batch, the loving wife of Yoyo (Oyo). In the story, the newlyweds Batch and Yoyo purchase a well-furnished house with three spacious bed rooms, a huge living room situated in a very prime location and was sold to them for a very low price. However, the downside of it is that the house only has one toilet because the ones who built the house accidentally put in only one. The couple though didn’t regret their decision in buying the house for it is located near a transportation station and is in a safe neighborhood. So, they thought that they will just have the house renovated and thought that they would need to open up for rent two vacant rooms to save up for the renovation and finish paying the loan.

The first tenant is played by Bossing Vic Sotto as Vio the food-blogger and bachelor who is excessively obsessed with everything be clean and neat. Followed by him is the second tenant played by Ai-Ai delas Alas is Lav, the lazy, painfully sloppy, and untidy event coordinator. With the two's opposite relationship, they somehow develop an unfriendly relationship and eventually plot to throw each other out of the house.

The show also features comedians Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo, and Ruby Rodriguez.

Hay Bahay will start airing this Sunday, June 19, after 24 Oras Weekend on GMA.

COMIC DUO. Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola are seen on television practically every day because of their TV shows.

Members of the press curiously asked the comic duo: do they ever get tired?

From Monday to Saturday, Jose and Wally are seen on the noontime show Eat Bulaga! On Sundays, Jose and Wally give entertainment in the Kapuso variety show Sunday Pinasaya.

And starting Sunday evening, June 19, they will be seen throwing punchlines with Vic and Ai-Ai on the new sitcom Hay Bahay.

But fans need not to worry about them. Jose said they still get enough rest despite hectic work schedule.

WORKING WITH VIC AND AI-AI. Jose and Wally were also asked about working with two popular comedy actors, Vic and Ai-Ai.

Jose assured he and Wally won't upstage the lead actors of the new sitcom.

Jose also stressed that Vic has taught them how to respect fellow comedy actors.

Jose also noted that even though they normally have personal punchlines, they still get their director's approval before using it in the show.
