GMA Network highlights the versatility of its Kapuso stars in the newest drama anthology titled Obra starting this Thursday, August 14, after GMA Telebabad.

Every month, one Kapuso artist will be featured in Obra portraying roles that their fans have never seen before. Each episode relates stories about life, love, and sacrifice.

On its premiere offering, Obra presents one of the country's sexiest young actresses, Katrina Halili. Here, she will show the audience her flexibility to do different roles that are far different from the usual characters that she portrays in daily teledramas.

So, after a month, di ba, biglang merong Obra. Masaya po ako na napagbigyan ako."

Katrina has already taped two of the four episodes that she would do. The sexy actress pointed out that she was particularly challenged in portraying the character of a "taong grasa" and a "mystery woman."

"Pareho pong mahirap. Iba-iba po kasi yun eh," said Katrina.

She further added that she did not have any preparation for the roles that were assigned to her.

WORKING WITH AWARD-WINNING DIRECTORS. Katrina was also grateful to be chosen as the first artist to be featured in Obra. She saw this as an opportunity to work with remarkable directors in the industry.

In the episode directed by Joel Lamangan and written by Dode Cruz, the two-time FHM Sexiest Woman was deglamorized to be a vagrant or taong grasa. Direk Jun Lana has Katrina acting as twins who are involved in the mysterious death of a man. Ms. Bibeth directs Katrina when she transforms into a golddigger who is paired with a rich man who happens to be very thrifty. After directing a meek Katrina in the afternoon soap Magdusa Ka, Direk Maryo brings out a prostitute whose future seems bleak.

Like Katrina, the four directors were also excited to work with the StarStruck alumna.

For Direk Bibeth, she liked Katrina's face. She thought that it could give different facial expressions. Nakakaintriga. Ayoko kasi ng perfect faces, e."

Direk Mario, on the other hand, compared the 22-year-old actress with a doll. "Bilang director ng present telenovela niya, Magdusa Ka, on the contrary, hindi ako nagdudusa sa kanya," said Direk Maryo.

We give each other respect."

Direk Joel admired Katrina for being open to suggestions from her co-workers.

Lastly, Direk Jun liked the professionalism that Katrina showed when they taped for their episode.

He narrated, "When we taped Katrina's episode, she just came over sa Magdusa Ka. I was actually worried kung maibibigay niya yung hinihingi ng role kasi medyo mahirap yung gagawin niya dun. But even now, she was very professional.

With all these praises and opportunities that she received, Katrina could not say anything but "thank you" to the directors and her mother network.

Maraming salamat."

Watch the four episodes of Obra Presents: Katrina Halili every Thursday, beginning August 14, after Dalja's Spring on GMA-7.
