Paulo Avelino has been taping for ABS-CBN's The Promise Of Forever along with Ejay Falcon and new Kapamilya actress Ritz Azul.
The new primetime series is helmed by director Darnel Villaflor (On The Wings of Love) and indie filmmaker Hannah Espia (Transit) under the Dreamscape Entertainment TV unit of the Kapamilya network.
Paulo, Ritz, and Ejay spent over two weeks in Europe with the rest of the cast and crew to shoot their scenes. Their personal Instagram accounts are currently filled with photos taken from the countries they visited including Poland, Czech Republic, Amsterdam, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
According to the Kapamilya actor, The Promise of Forever is expected to be aired towards the last part of the third quarter.
Paolo told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an interview at the Preview Ball last July 1, "We're still shooting as of today, and I hope that we'll finish a few more scenes before they finalize the show date."
The 26-year-old actor expressed his excitement for his new drama series.
He explained, "We shot in places where it hasn't been seen in Philippine television so it's gonna be an eye candy in a way because there are gonna be some countries were we went in Europe... and it's gonna be first seen on Philippine television."
The Kapamilya actor gave his observations about the places the visited, "It's different per country kasi iba yung kultura, iba yung architecture, at saka different food. More than that, it's really the scenery ang maganda."
Aside from the majestic views, Paolo pointed out what viewers can expect from their upcoming teleserye. "We're offering something new, not just visually. It's something new to show as a love story so it's really exciting."
WORKING WITH RITZ. This series marks Paulo's first time to work with Ritz after the latter signed an exclusive contract with the Kapamilya network.
The actor, who was able bond with his leading lady while they were in Europe, is currently in the process of getting to know her more.
He told PEP, "We're still getting to know each other, so I'm trying to get to know Ritz. She's a very bubbly person in person."
Asked if they will have intense love scenes in the series, Paulo answered, "Not that intense pero meron."
Before shooting their love scenes for the series, Paulo and Ritz underwent sensuality workshops with filmmaker and Star Magic workshop conductor Rahyan Carlos. "A sensuality workshop, it's more of loosening up with your partner and like taking out inhibitions, trusting," the Kapamilya star explained.
He continued, "It's more of like getting trust sa isa't isa. so parang, putting in a sensual scene or scenes na kailangan ng sensuality, there's compromise.
MOVIE PROJECTS. Meanwhile, the former On The Wings of Love star is also gearing up for his new movie under Star Cinema titled The Unmarried Wife with Kapamilya actress Angelica Panganiban and GMA-7 Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.
Paulo, however, wasn't able to share details of his character in the movie. He said, "Sa ngayon medyo sketchy pa, e, once we get to know our characters well baka [puwede na]..."
Paolo is also excited to "share the screen" with Dingdong for this project. Dingdong hosted Starstruck: The Next Level Season 4 back in 2006 when Paolo was one of the finalists. The Kapamilya heartthrob also looks forward to working with Angelica for the first time.
He said, "I've worked with him a long, long time ago when I was very young. It's nice to share one screen with him now and especially with Angelica Panganiban, it's also my first time working with her. So I'm excited to work with them actually."
After this, Paulo's upcoming film Ang Larawan, The Musical (also starring Rachel Alejandro, Sandino Martin, Joanna Ampil, and many others) is scheduled to be released this September.
He is also expected to reprise his role as General Gregorio "Goyong" del Pilar in a biopic set to be released in 2019. The movie will be the sequel to John Arcilla's blockbuster hit Heneral Luna where Paulo portrayed the young Goyong.
Paulo disclosed, "There's a script but I think they're still finalizing it."
