Before choosing to lead a quieter life in the U.S., Princess Punzalan was one of the country's top kontrabidas.
Her most remarkable role was Selina, the antagonist in Mula Sa Puso, which was topbilled by Claudine Barretto.
At the presscon of Drs. Manny and Pie Calayan, PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to talk to Princess about her job as a registered nurse.
Do her colleagues in the hospital know that she’s a celebrity in the Philippines?
Laughing, she replied, “Hindi, hindi naman ganoon, hahaha!
“Because I never tell people, ‘Oh, I’m famous.’
“I just tell them I’ve done a few TV shows or movies, and they have seen me.”
Now we’re curious how she’s able to take a leave of absence each time she has a showbiz commitment.
What does she tell her superior?
“Mabuti na lang kasi, nasa registry ako. Buti na lang yung boss ko, Pilipino.
“Sabi ko, tapusin ko muna yung showbiz commitments. Okay naman sa kanya.”
She joined showbiz in the mid-'80s, and has made her mark in drama.
Is there any role she wants to portray?
“I think by now in my career for 25 years, nagawa ko na lahat.
“I just want to maintain, I just want to give people a good performance every time I come out. Yun lang naman ang misyon ko.”
Prior to The Story of Us, she became part of Yagit, she added, “'Yan ang last teleserye ko.
“But there was a movie that was shown last April, yung Diyos Diyosan.”
